Structural Engineering Intern

About the Role
Reditus Space is seeking a Structural Engineering Intern to support the design, analysis, and integration of structural subsystems for the ENOS mission — a reusable reentry vehicle enabling microgravity experimentation and in-space manufacturing. As part of our engineering team, you’ll work on flight-critical structures from preliminary design through integration and test, helping to ensure that the vehicle can survive launch, spaceflight, and reentry environments.

Responsibilities

• Assist with structural design of primary and secondary vehicle components using CAD tools
• Perform static, dynamic, and thermal stress analyses using FEA software under guidance from senior engineers
• Support manufacturing, assembly, and test operations related to structural elements
• Review and update engineering drawings, materials lists, and interface definitions
• Participate in structural test planning, execution, and data analysis

Qualifications

• Senior undergraduate or graduate student in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related discipline
• Experience with CAD (e.g., SolidWorks, Creo) and FEA tools (e.g., ANSYS, NASTRAN)
• Familiarity with composite materials, fasteners, and aerospace structural design principles
• Strong understanding of load paths, safety factors, and failure modes in aerospace applications
• Ability to collaborate in a fast-paced, hardware-focused team environment
