Role Summary
As our Senior P&C Underwriter, you will play a critical role in shaping and executing Corgi’s underwriting strategy. You’ll bring deep technical expertise in property & casualty risk evaluation and combine it with a forward-looking mindset to help us design scalable, compliant, and competitive underwriting frameworks. Key Responsibilities
Lead underwriting strategy across multiple P&C product lines
Develop and refine risk appetite, underwriting guidelines, and frameworks that enable automation and scalability
Collaborate with actuarial, product, regulatory, and operations teams to launch and manage new insurance products
Provide expert input into regulatory filings and respond to inquiries from state insurance departments
Monitor portfolio performance and implement adjustments to maintain profitability and risk integrity
Serve as a mentor and subject matter expert to junior underwriters as the team expands
Qualifications
10+ years of P&C underwriting experience, preferably in commercial lines
Strong knowledge of underwriting principles, risk assessment, and regulatory requirements
Demonstrated experience launching or expanding insurance products or programs
Ability to balance traditional underwriting discipline with innovative, technology-driven approaches
Exceptional judgment, analytical ability, and attention to detail
Strong communication skills and the ability to work cross-functionally with technical and non-technical stakeholders
