GovEagle (YC W23) helps government contractors respond to federal requests for proposals (RFPs) in hours instead of weeks. We use AI to turn existing content, templates, and more into a complete first draft. Our vision is to become the Salesforce for government contractors - one place to identify, respond to, and manage government proposals/awards.

The Role

We’re looking for a Senior Frontend Engineer to take ownership of the GovEagle user experience. You’ll lead development across our React/Next.js frontend, work closely with our designer to bring new interfaces to life, and shape the workflows that define how customers interact with our platform every day. This role is deeply product-focused, highly visible, and central to how GovEagle continues to scale.

This role is in-person in New York City, 5 days per week, to maximize collaboration and speed.

What You’re Signing Up For

• Owning the frontend of the GovEagle platform end to end — architecture, components, performance, and polish.
• Implementing new designs, workflows, and dashboard experiences with React, Typescript, and Next.js.
• Working closely with our designer to translate product ideas and UI specs into high-quality, production-ready interfaces.
• Integrating with backend APIs and LLM-powered functionality in collaboration with our backend engineers.
• Improving UI consistency, responsiveness, accessibility, and maintainability.
• Contributing to our design system and shaping a scalable component library.
• While not a DevOps-heavy role, familiarity with Kubernetes, GovCloud environments, or secure deployments is a plus.
• Experience developing Microsoft Office add-ins (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) or building browser extensions is a strong bonus.

• 3+ years of professional frontend engineering experience.
• Deep expertise in React, Next.js, Typescript, and modern frontend patterns.
• Strong product sense — you care about user flows, clarity, and experience.
• Experience partnering with designers and bringing UI/UX specs to life.
• Comfortable with complex data flows, state management, and backend integrations.
• Someone who thrives in a fast-paced startup with clear ownership and autonomy.
• Bonus experience:
  • Microsoft add-ins or browser extensions
  • LLM integrations
  • Secure cloud environments (AWS GovCloud, Azure GovCloud)
