The Role

We're looking for a Software Engineer II to join our growing engineering team and help build the future of tax automation. You'll work across our full technology stack, implementing features end-to-end from user interface to AI-powered backend services.

What You'll Do

• Build end-to-end features from conception through deployment using our modern tech stack
• Develop AI-powered workflows that automate complex tax calculations and document processing
• Create intuitive user experiences for tax professionals and business owners
• Write comprehensive tests to ensure reliability of critical tax computation logic
• Collaborate cross-functionally with tax experts, product, and design teams
• Optimize performance of data-intensive operations processing large financial datasets
• Maintain high code quality through reviews, documentation, and best practices

What We're Looking For

Required

• 2-5 years of professional software development experience
• Strong proficiency in TypeScript and modern JavaScript
• Experience with React/Next.js for frontend development
• Backend development experience with Node.js or similar
• Full-stack mindset - comfortable working across the entire application stack
• Testing experience - writing unit, integration, and e2e tests
• AWS or cloud platform experience (serverless architecture preferred)
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

Preferred

• Experience with serverless architectures (Lambda, Step Functions, etc.)
• AI/ML integration experience with APIs like OpenAI
• Experience with financial or compliance software
• Data processing experience with large datasets
• Previous startup experience in fast-paced environments
