The Role

We’re looking for a strategic, hands-on Head of Finance & Operations to help Tavus scale from scrappy startup to category-defining company. As our first leadership hire across finance + biz ops, you’ll own everything from forecasting and budgeting, creating strategy for pricing and GTM revenue, process design, compliance, and vendor management. You will be balancing both the strategy and execution on these tasks.

You’ll be the operational backbone to our technical and GTM teams - and a thought partner to the founders as we plan for the next stage of growth.

Your Mission 🚀

• Own financial modeling, planning, and forecasting
• Build systems for budgeting, cash management, and reporting
• Design and optimize internal operations, including billing, contracts, and tools
• Manage external vendors: accounting, legal, HR, compliance
• Define and track key KPIs across the business
• Partner with the CEO and leadership team on strategic planning and capital allocation

Requirements

• 7+ years experience in finance, operations, or biz ops (startup or venture-backed experience preferred)
• Strong modeling skills and familiarity with startup accounting
• Operational generalist - you’re comfortable owning a broad scope and adapting quickly
• High attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
• Experience working directly with founders or executive teams

Bonus if you have:

• Experience scaling an early-stage company from Seed/Series A to Series B/C/D
• Familiar with tools like Ramp, Carta, Quickbooks, Gusto, Pulley, or Stripe
• Background in venture capital, FP&A, or consulting
• Played Portal 1 and 2 - or willing to as part of onboarding 😄
