About Bucket Robotics

About Bucket Robotics

At Bucket Robotics, we’re on a mission to revolutionize quality control in manufacturing. Today, over $10 billion worth of manufactured parts are scrapped due to defects, and traditional inspection methods are slow, expensive, and unreliable. We’re changing that by deploying AI-powered vision systems that detect defects faster, more accurately, and with minimal setup.

Our unique approach uses synthetic data generated from CAD models, allowing us to deploy defect detection models 50x faster than competitors—no need for thousands of real-world images.

We’re a team of engineers and innovators with backgrounds from Michelin, Uber ATG, Argo AI, and Stack AV, applying our robotics expertise to solve real-world manufacturing challenges. We’ve already secured enterprise customers in automotive and plastics, and we’re just getting started.

If you're excited about AI, robotics, and making a tangible impact on manufacturing, we'd love to hear from you!

About the role
Skills: Computer Vision

Role Overview

Bucket Robotics is hiring a Head of Business Development to lead enterprise manufacturing sales, from initial engagement through scaled production deployment.

Bucket Robotics provides production-ready computer vision systems for manufacturing environments. We work with large industrial organizations where a successful initial deployment can expand across dozens or hundreds of inspection points. This role is focused on identifying the right use cases, driving disciplined evaluations, and converting proven value into long-term production contracts.

You will own complex enterprise opportunities end-to-end: qualifying fit, guiding pilots with commercial intent, navigating multi-stakeholder organizations, and supporting expansion once deployed. This role requires strong judgment, comfort with technical systems, and the ability to operate effectively inside large manufacturing enterprises.

You will work closely with the CEO and engineering team, while owning the commercial process and customer relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Own enterprise manufacturing opportunities from qualified lead through paid production deployment
  • Lead structured discovery with Quality, Manufacturing Engineering, Automation, and Operations teams
  • Apply disciplined qualification to focus on proven, high-impact inspection use cases
  • Identify initial wedge deployments designed to scale across lines, plants, or programs
  • Drive pilots and evaluations with clear success criteria tied to production adoption
  • Navigate complex enterprise organizations and multi-stakeholder buying processes
  • Build and support internal customer champions across technical and operational teams
  • Partner with the CEO on pricing strategy, deal structure, and account-level expansion
  • Maintain strong technical credibility in customer discussions without owning product management
  • Reinforce and scale repeatable sales patterns based on real production deployments

Required Qualifications

  • 7+ years experience in enterprise sales or business development
  • Demonstrated success selling into large manufacturing or industrial organizations
  • Experience managing long, multi-stakeholder sales cycles
  • Strong ability to assess deal quality and prioritize high-leverage opportunities
  • Technical fluency with complex systems (software, automation, ML, or industrial technology)
  • Comfortable engaging with engineers, operators, and executive stakeholders
  • Highly organized, self-directed, and effective in ambiguous environments
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience selling automation, inspection, robotics, or industrial software systems
  • Familiarity with manufacturing environments (plants, lines, cells, takt time, quality systems)
  • Experience with land-and-expand enterprise sales motions
  • Prior experience at an early-stage or founder-led company

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary and meaningful equity

  • Comprehensive benefits including health, dental, and vision

  • Professional development budget for conferences, travel, and learning

  • Direct exposure to enterprise manufacturing customers and real production deployments

  • A senior role with influence over how the company scales commerciallyOur Values

Technology

Tech at Bucket Robotics

At Bucket Robotics, we’re building AI-powered vision systems that solve real manufacturing problems—fast. Our stack is designed for rapid iteration, photorealistic synthetic data generation, and easy deployment to factory floors.

We work across the full stack of industrial AI:

AI & Vision

Custom computer vision models trained entirely on synthetic data generated from CAD—no real-world defects required.

Synthetic Data Generation

Blender-powered rendering pipelines with industrial materials, realistic lighting, and defect modeling, all configurable from the browser.

Edge Deployment

Models exported to ONNX and deployed on NVIDIA Jetson and x86 platforms for real-time inference on the line.

Manufacturing Integration

Outputs connect directly to manufacturing systems—ERP (SAP, Oracle, etc.), MES, and quality tracking—ensuring that inspection insights feed into production workflows.

Developer Experience

We build with Python, TypeScript, and WebGL (Three.js), using a modern stack (React 19, TailwindCSS, Vite, Flask) to maximize speed, usability, and flexibility.

We're solving the cold-start problem in machine vision with an engineer-friendly platform built for real production environments. If you care about closing the loop between CAD, QA, and deployment—let’s talk.
