Here’s a secret between you and me: even the world’s largest manufacturers, companies like Tesla and Toyota, waste billions of dollars every year making products with quality issues. Building high-quality things at scale is incredibly hard. It doesn’t just happen because you hire smart people or buy good machines. It requires seeing problems early, understanding them deeply, and acting in real time, something factories were never designed to do.
At Overview.ai, we’re changing that. We build custom hardware, edge AI, and software systems that give manufacturers real visibility into how their products are actually being made. Our technology helps catch defects earlier, reduce waste, and fundamentally improve how factories operate. This work matters, not just for our customers, but for keeping American manufacturing competitive in a world that’s moving faster every year.
We are looking for a field-based Vision Solutions Engineer in Monterrey, Mexico, to support customers throughout the full lifecycle of our vision systems — from pre-sales technical conversations to onsite deployments, troubleshooting, and long-term relationship building.
This role involves spending the majority of time onsite with customers, with a travel pattern that is mostly regional and allows for regular return home.
This is a highly customer-facing, hands-on role that sits at the intersection of engineering, applications, and sales. You will spend significant time onsite at manufacturing facilities , working directly with operators, engineers, and decision-makers to understand real-world problems and translate them into effective solutions.
This role is ideal for professionals who are comfortable in manufacturing environments and on the plant floor, can learn systems quickly through hands-on exposure, and are ready to take ownership in a fast-paced, field-based role.
If you're driven by field readiness, focused on building customer trust, and ready to turn your technical knowledge into real-world impact, then this is the right fit for you.
Act as a trusted technical partner for customers in manufacturing environments
Support the sales process end-to-end , including technical discovery, demos, onsite evaluations, and application support
Spend significant time onsite at customer plants , building long-term relationships through presence, consistency, and follow-up
Troubleshoot vision systems and related hardware/software in real production environments
Integrating our systems with several components in customer site
Communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders — from operators to engineers to leadership
Translate customer pain points into clear technical and commercial solutions
Support installations, answer application questions, and help customers feel confident using the product
Drive business growth by selling high-volume solutions (think 20+ cameras instead of just 1-2!).
Travel 60-80% of the time to meet clients , ensuring a high level of satisfaction, continued engagement, and successful implementations.
Engineering studies background (BS in Mechatronics, Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Chemical, or similar)
At least 2 years of experience in or strong exposure to manufacturing or industrial environments
At least 1 year of customer-facing experience, both internal or external, or in field-based settings
Strong troubleshooting mindset
Ability to work through ambiguity and fast-paced environments
Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
Willingness and enthusiasm for frequent travel
Self-directed, autonomous, and comfortable working remotely
Interest in supporting commercial outcomes, not just technical execution

Opportunities for career growth in a rapidly evolving industry.
Supportive and dynamic work environment.
We build edge AI inspection systems that run directly on GPU-enabled industrial cameras and deploy on real manufacturing lines. The hard problems are end-to-end and production-grade: designing low-latency inference pipelines, deterministic triggering and buffering, on-device data capture for fast debugging, safe/atomic updates, and fleet-scale rollout across many sites. Our team spans web developers (building local configuration and monitoring UIs that run on the camera), AI/ML engineers, embedded + firmware engineers, and AI infrastructure engineers who own training pipelines, data/versioning, deployment tooling, and reliability.
