About Tuesday
Tuesday Lab builds delightful robots that bring joy into homes worldwide. We're driven by a mission to make everyday life easier and more fun through cutting-edge robotics. If you got into robotics because you watched old Boston Dynamics videos as a kid, or you made a 3D-printed hobby hexapod after finishing your problem sets, and you take your inspiration more from sci-fi movies than real life, you should come work at the Lab.
We are engineers, researchers and builders who love living among our creations. Our mission is to make our magical world of animated objects accessible to everyone. As part of a small company sprinting toward launch, expect to work hard — but the reward will be a robot in your home, and everyone you know asking you for a spot on our waitlist.
Mechatronics Engineer (In-Office, NYC)
We are seeking a Mechatronics Engineer to co-develop our first product and help write robotics history. You will integrate mechanical, electrical, and software systems to create robots that delight users, directly impacting our success in deploying helpful robots into homes. You will fabricate robots, develop and run tests for robotic subsystems, select components, make sourcing decisions and manage relationships with suppliers, and participate in design reviews.
This is a unique role that’s great for someone who wants to be involved early on in a company. You'll make high-impact decisions that will define our robots' capabilities and our company's trajectory.
We are evaluating applications on a rolling basis, with a desired start date of December 1st, 2025.
Responsibilities:
Rapidly prototype new ideas in robot structure, actuation and industrial design
Research, design and develop electrical subsystems for the robot
Design and perform reliability testing that validates components, subsystems, and the fully assembled robot
Manage thermal and dynamics challenges, performing formal analysis where necessary
Collaborate with software, design, product teams on prototyping, validation, and failure analysis
Identify manufacturing partners and manage relationships with suppliers
Candidate must be willing to travel domestically and internationally 10% or more as needed
Required Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's in Mechatronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or related field
Work Experience: 2+ years in a hardware engineering role or 1+ years with advanced degree
Design Tools: Advanced experience with CAD software (SolidWorks, Onshape, Eagle), MATLAB, and simulation tools
Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and DFM principles
Prototyping tools: 3D Printing, CNC, Laser Cutting, Injection Molding, Die Casting
Systems Knowledge: Deep understanding of automation, sensors, actuators, and embedded systems
Nice-to-Haves:
Experience launching a first-of-a-kind consumer electronics product – from prototype to production
Startup or small company experience
Hands-on experience with robotics platforms
Experience with consumer hardware certifications
Familiarity with firmware development
About You:
Technical Excellence: Deep knowledge of mechatronics with demonstrated ability to design, implement, test, and iterate quickly
Product Focus: You believe in home robotics and will do whatever it takes to deliver reliable robots to our customers
Startup Mentality: Willingness to tackle diverse challenges in a fast-paced, resource-constrained environment
If you don’t have these qualifications, but you really want to do this job, you should apply for it anyway. This is a startup: passion and work ethic count for a lot.
What Tuesday Offers:
The opportunity to play a critical role at a fast-growing startup and work with people like you–people with deep expertise, who love playful applications, and are excited about building the future
