About Tuesday
Tuesday Lab builds delightful robots that bring joy into homes worldwide. We are driven by a desire to make everyday life easier and more fun through cutting-edge robotics. If you enjoy watching Boston Dynamics videos, building hobby hexapods, and take inspiration from sci-fi rather than spreadsheets, you should come work at the Lab.
We are engineers, researchers, and builders who love living among our creations. Our mission is to make our magical world of animated objects accessible to everyone
We are a small company sprinting to launch. No two days will be exactly the same. You should expect your work to change as the team learns and adapts.
Engineering Technician (In-Office, NYC)
We are seeking a talented and driven technician to integrate and test electronics. This role is critical to our success in deploying delightful, helpful robots into homes – if you deliver, you will be a part of robotics history. As part of an early-stage startup team, you will help select, test, and finalize robot components.
We are particularly interested in applicants with interesting robotics side projects, especially if you have built something you use at home.
Responsibilities:
Prototyping: Work with our hardware engineers to fabricate, assemble, and integrate robot prototypes, including assemblies, electrical systems, and wire harnesses
Circuit and Robot Integration: Integrate electrical subsystems including sensors, motors, and control circuits into robot platforms. Configure and troubleshoot system interconnections
Testing: Support bench-top electrical system builds and testing, and maintain comprehensive documentation of results
Collaboration: Collaborate with Engineering teams to root cause and resolve mechanical and electrical issues
Required Qualifications:
3+ years of experience as an Engineering Technician or 1-2 years of experience with a Bachelor's degree in Engineering
Strong grasp of electrical engineering principles, including circuit design and integration
Hands-on experience with bench testing, soldering irons, wire crimping tools, DMM multi-meters, oscilloscopes, and high & low voltage systems
Experience in CAD (SolidWorks, Onshape) and/or electrical design (Eagle), fabrication/machining, and 3D printing
Must be able to lift 50 lbs
Analytical problem solving skills, root cause analysis, and troubleshooting
Nice-to-haves:
About You:
Life-Long Learner: Up to date on latest 3D printer technology
Strong Empirical Skills: Ability to implement, test, analyze and modify your methods quickly
Product Focus: You believe in home robots and will move fast to deliver delightful robots to our customers
Startup Mentality: Tackle a wide range of tasks—beyond fabrication and integration—when needed, in a fast-paced, resource-constrained environment
Location: Based in NY and able to work in our office in Flatiron
If you don’t have these qualifications, but you really want to do this job, you should apply for it anyway. This is a startup: passion and work ethic count for a lot.
What Tuesday Offers:
The opportunity to play a critical role in deploying robots into the home. This is awesome for people who have thought about becoming founders themselves, or are looking to apply their deep engineering expertise to a high impact career that brings more joy into the world.
Work alongside people with deep expertise who love playful applications and are excited about building the future.
The option to work evenings or weekends instead of the traditional M-F 9-5pm schedule.
