What is this role?

This role is for a fullstack engineer (backend focussed) who has worked on production-grade apps. You will find this role amazing IF - you have worked with python && pro in NodeJS && done solid work in Gen AI (beyond prompts and basic agents)

What you will work on?

You will be joining us in this 1-100 journey, building the best AI tutor platform out of India (likes of Duolingo). So there is tons of UX, AI, personalisation, gamification, complex problems, and new ideas to work upon that comes along.

Requirements:

• 1+ yrs experience in building scalable backend using Python / NodeJS

  (and atleast ~1 yr in NodeJS. Typescript is our primary stack)

• Loves writing quality code and is obsessed with performance (optimised queries?)

• Software engineering skills -

  • Relational DBs - PostgreSQL, MySQL
  • Worked on Elastic search, queues, caching
  • Rate limiting, Scaling
  • DevOps - worked on or familiar with AWS/Azure/GCP
  • Basics of security

• Generative AI skills -

  • Comfortable working on vector databases and quality output with RAG (say rerankers, sparse/dense search)
  • Loves writing scripts, and have worked on Dataset generation (labelled / unlabelled)
  • Model training, RLHF, RLAIF
  • Preferred - worked on Agentic workflows, Voice models
  • Preferred - understands basic ML

• Bonus - Basic understanding of frontend - ReactJS, or can build on lovable or cursor.

Responsibilities:

• Lead various backend initiatives end to end - building features, performance, database, general devops, etc.
• Building agents, managing vector databases, model training or AI pipelines.
• Lots of datasets - tagging, data manipulation, etc. Python ease the day here.
• Keep yourself updated with evolving technology - training techniques models, tooling, etc.
• We thrive on smooth communication, ownership and agility. It’s a must.
