Applied AI Engineer

About the Role

We’re looking for a hands-on AI Engineer, super passionate about AI engineering, to design and scale AI agents. Join our dynamic, friendly, close-knit team to build impactful LLM-powered solutions at speed.

Responsibilities

• Build and refine LLM-based agents, focusing on retrieval-augmented generation and data retrieval systems
• Develop robust AI evaluation frameworks, metrics, and methodologies
• Demonstrate NLP fundamentals (tokenisation, embeddings, LLM understanding)
• Practise prompt engineering (few-shot, role-based, …), continuously testing and optimising prompts with tools like Weave or Laminar
• Balance constraints (token limits, cost, speed) while maintaining clear, structured outputs
• Apply back-end expertise for data-intensive applications, writing clean, modular Python code and performing quick data processing

Technical Must-Haves

• LLM-based agent design with retrieval-augmented generation
• Proficiency in AI evaluation frameworks, NLP fundamentals (tokenisation, embeddings, LLM architecture), and bias handling
• Prompt engineering with systematic experimentation (tools like Weave or Langsmith)
• Strong Python back-end skills for data-intensive systems and data processing
• Ability to balance token limits, cost, and speed while producing structured outputs
