About the role

As a Technical Recruiter, you’ll be the driving force behind building Retell AI’s exceptional team, sourcing and attracting top-tier technical talent to shape the future of voice automation. You’ll partner with founders and hiring managers to understand our technical needs, craft compelling job descriptions, and manage the end-to-end recruitment process. This high-impact role combines strategic sourcing, candidate engagement, and process optimization, giving you the opportunity to define our talent acquisition strategy and contribute to a category-leading product.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute sourcing strategies to attract top-tier talent, including software engineers, GTM specialists, and product designers.
  • Partner with hiring managers to define role requirements, craft job descriptions, and align on candidate profiles.
  • Manage the full recruitment cycle, from sourcing and screening to coordinating interviews and closing offers.
  • Build and maintain a strong candidate pipeline through proactive outreach, networking, and leveraging platforms like LinkedIn and X.
  • Create an exceptional candidate experience, ensuring clear communication and timely follow-ups.
  • Optimize recruitment processes, using data-driven insights to improve hiring efficiency and quality.
  • Represent Retell AI’s mission and culture to candidates, acting as a brand ambassador.
  • Provide actionable feedback to leadership to refine hiring strategies and improve candidate fit.

You Might Thrive If You

  • Have 3+ years of full-cycle technical recruiting experience, ideally in an early or growth-stage startup environment.
  • Are proficient in sourcing tools like LinkedIn Recruiter with a knack for finding hidden talent.
  • Excel at building relationships, communicating clearly, and managing multiple stake-holders in a dynamic setting.
  • Bring empathy and a candidate-first mindset, ensuring every interaction reflects Retell AI’s values.
  • Are data-driven, using metrics to optimize sourcing, screening, and closing processes.
  • Have a passion for AI and technology, with curiosity to learn about voice automation and Retell’s mission.
  • Thrive in ambiguous, fast-moving environments, adapting quickly to evolving priorities.
  • Already know or have used Ashby ATS.

Job Details

  • Job Type: Full-time, 70 hr/week (50 hr/week onsite with flexible hours + 20 hr/week work from home)
  • Cash: $185k–$215k
  • Equity: 0.05%–0.15%
  • Location: Redwood City, CA, US
  • US Visas: Sponsors Visa & Green Card

Interview Process

  • Phone Interview (30 min): Virtual discussion on your recruiting approach, focusing on sourcing and candidate engagement.
  • Scenario-Based Interview (30 min): Present a solution for a hypothetical recruiting challenge.
  • Onsite/Virtual Interviews (2–3 hr): Hosted in Redwood City, CA, or virtual, with three rounds:
    • Stakeholder Alignment: Show how you collaborate with hiring managers.
    • Sourcing Skills: Present a solution for a hypothetical recruiting challenge.
    • Promoting Retell AI: Pitch Retell AI’s mission and culture to attract top candidates.
