Healthcare is a broken system. It’s the most important thing in anyone’s life, but the ability to both deliver and receive healthcare has been artificially constrained in a brick and mortar system of hospitals and clinics that charge predatory prices, increase administrative bloat, and create barriers between doctors and patients.

This has left doctors disgruntled, with 40% of doctors in the U.S. planning to leave their jobs in the next 5 years. It’s also left patients lost — rationing when they seek care and sacrificing their overall health.

With FutureClinic, we’re building a completely new category of care. Chat-based healthcare. Asynchronous by design, available from anywhere, and mediated by AI assistants who handle data gathering to make the system infinitely more scalable than current healthcare delivery.

We want to make expert, personalized healthcare accessible to 8 billion people in the world. The FutureClinic platform empowers individual doctors to launch their own chat-based clinic and offer direct subscription based care to patients. With this model, we can change the way healthcare is delivered for good. In 5 years, everyone will start their healthcare journey with any new symptom by speaking directly to the doctors they’ve chosen through the FutureClinic app. They’ll only ever seek in person care when it’s truly necessary, not as a default first option.

About Us

• Funding: $5 M seed at a $40 M valuation (January 2025).
• Founders: 3 of our 4 co‑founders are both board‑certified physicians and software engineers.
• Model: Doctors operate through FutureClinic and keep 85 % of revenue; FutureClinic earns a 15 % platform fee.
• Product: Asynchronous chat intake driven by a clinical‑reasoning AI assistant that syncs seamlessly with our AI‑native EHR, e‑prescribing and billing.

Our Current Stack

• React with TypeScript powers all of our web-based experiences, including:
  • Patient onboarding flows
  • A voice agent
  • Our web-based Electronic Health Record (EHR) used by providers (doctors, nurses, etc.) to review patient encounters
• React Native with Expo is used for our mobile applications
  • The patient app, which allows users to access current and past chats with providers, as well as view their medical records
  • The mobile version of the EHR, known as the “Doctor Dashboard,” designed for providers on the go
• TypeScript / Node / Hono in a PNPM monorepo, sharing types across all workspaces.

What You’ll Do

1. Own the mobile experience end‑to‑end in Expo (iOS, Android).
2. You’ll be expected to be able to contribute to the react web apps.
3. Craft polished, accessible UI components and animations
4. Build real‑time chat, push notifications, secure file upload, and offline support.
5. Collaborate closely with clinician‑founders, product, and backend to ship features weekly.
6. Help to build the first ever mobile-native EHR (electronic health record) that allows doctors to run a medical clinic from their phone.
7. Establish frontend CI/CD, E2E testing, and a design‑system culture for a lean team.

You Might Be a Fit If You…

• Have 2+ years of hands-on experience with React Native (Expo bare & managed), React on the web and TypeScript.
• Sweat the small stuff: deep knowledge of React and React Native, experience with Expo/EAS offerings (i.e. the prebuilt native API SDKs such as cameras, notifications, file system etc).
• Are skilled in building responsive, natural-feeling animations using Reanimated (React Native) and Motion (Framer Motion) for Web, with a strong grasp of interaction design best practices.
• Have experience managing front-end deployments and implementing CI/CD pipelines for web and mobile applications
• Love greenfield work and moving from wireframe → ship in a matter of days.
• Can efficiently architect and plan systems to ensure code adheres to a well-structured and consistent design framework.
• Write clean, understandable code that makes it easy for other developers to onboard and contribute effectively
• Are comfortable touching light backend code when needed.
• Thrive in high-ownership settings and navigate ambiguity with initiative.

• Experience with building real time chat applications.

• Experience building generative UI systems
• Prior startup or YC experience.
