Healthcare is a broken system. It’s the most important thing in anyone’s life, but the ability to both deliver and receive healthcare has been artificially constrained in a brick and mortar system of hospitals and clinics that charge predatory prices, increase administrative bloat, and create barriers between doctors and patients.

This has left doctors disgruntled, with 40% of doctors in the U.S. planning to leave their jobs in the next 5 years. It’s also left patients lost — rationing when they seek care and sacrificing their overall health.

With FutureClinic, we’re building a completely new category of care. Chat-based healthcare. Asynchronous by design, available from anywhere, and mediated by AI assistants who handle data gathering to make the system infinitely more scalable than current healthcare delivery.

We want to make expert, personalized healthcare accessible to 8 billion people in the world. The FutureClinic platform empowers individual doctors to launch their own chat-based clinic and offer direct subscription based care to patients. With this model, we can change the way healthcare is delivered for good. In 5 years, everyone will start their healthcare journey with any new symptom by speaking directly to the doctors they’ve chosen through the FutureClinic app. They’ll only ever seek in person care when it’s truly necessary, not as a default first option.

What You’ll Do

1. Design, secure, and scale the core APIs so thousands of concurrent doctor-patient chats run with high availability and HIPAA-grade protection.
2. Evolve our Temporal workflows for billing, chat routing, and EHR synchronization, keeping them fault-tolerant and observable.
3. Partner with ML engineers on low-latency model-inference pipelines and real-time LLM monitoring.
4. Apply your engineering craft to tackle real healthcare problems that improve patient and clinician experiences every week.
5. Ship product-focused backend features from concept to production, measure impact, and iterate fast.

You Might Be a Fit If You…

• Have 5+ years designing, building, and running production software with Node and TypeScript
• Taken at least one product from idea to launch as an early engineer at a startup
• Love building things people want, whether at work or in side projects and open-source hacks
