About the role
Vorticity’s cloud‑native Molecular Dynamics (MD) Platform is a pay‑per‑use solution that lets drug‑discovery teams set up, launch, and analyze high‑fidelity MD simulations without the complexity of managing HPC infrastructure. We are seeking a driven Account Executive to spearhead commercial expansion of this flagship product across biotech, pharmaceutical, and academic research markets.
You will own the full sales cycle—from prospecting to close—acting as a trusted advisor to scientists and business stakeholders who rely on computational methods to accelerate discovery. Your ability to translate complex MD concepts into clear business value will be critical to your success.
What You Will Do
- Identify, qualify, and close new business for Vorticity’s MD Platform within biotech, pharma, CRO/CDMO, and academic accounts.
- Build and nurture multi‑level relationships (scientific, IT, finance, C‑suite) to drive enterprise‑wide adoption and expansion.
- Conduct value‑based demos and proof‑of‑concept engagements showcasing how the platform accelerates lead optimization while controlling compute spend.
- Negotiate commercial terms, manage pipeline, and consistently exceed quarterly and annual revenue targets.
- Capture and relay customer feedback to shape product roadmap and marketing messaging; serve as the “voice of the customer.”
- Collaborate cross-functionally with product teams to ensure rapid onboarding and sustained usage growth.
- Represent Vorticity at conferences and industry events (travel up to 50%).
What You Bring

3+ years of quota‑carrying B2B sales experience selling SaaS or software solutions to biotech, pharma, or life‑science organizations; startup experience preferred.
- Knowledge of molecular dynamics or related life sciences workflows —enough to engage credibly with stakeholders.
- Demonstrated success running complex, multi‑stakeholder sales cycles and closing six‑figure ACV deals.
- Familiarity with cloud consumption and pay‑per‑use business models.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and consultative selling skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in a business or scientific field.
Nice to Have
- Experience selling life sciences software (e.g., molecular modeling, structure‑based design, cheminformatics) or high‑performance computing services.
- Degree in a life‑sciences or computational discipline.
- Understanding of free energy perturbation, QM/MM, or AI‑driven molecular modeling workflows.
