About Pylon

Post-covid, businesses have started shifting the way they communicate with customers from email to chat platforms like Slack, Microsoft Teams, and Discord. At Pylon, we are building a real-time customer operations platform to help support, success, and sales teams at places like Hightouch, Merge, and Sardine scalably meet their customers where they live.

Just like how Zendesk made email scalable in a support context, Mailchimp made email scalable in a marketing context, and Salesforce & Outreach made email scalable in a sales context, Pylon is making chat scalable across customer-facing functions.

About the role

Become the fifth AE at Pylon.

We're a startup backed by a16z (Series A), General Catalyst (Seed), and Y Combinator (Pre-Seed), building the next-generation customer support platform.

We replace products like Salesforce Service Cloud ($8.3B/yr) and Zendesk ($1.3B/yr).

We've onboarded 3 AEs in the past six months, and they've been crushing it.

Our pipeline can now support more AEs.

Majority of our pipeline is coming inbound.

You will start by selling mostly high volume deals to early-stage B2B companies (< 500 employees) in tech, though the number of industries and company-sizes that we can sell to is growing quickly as our product matures and expands to eat away at the broader support system market.

About Us

  • Full team is 30 people, majority engineering

Current Sales Process

  • Prospect comes inbound and books a demo
  • First sales call
  • Open up a shared Slack channel at the end of the call if they are qualified
  • Help the prospect onboard and run a 1-2 week trial
  • Negotiate and close

Requirements

  • 2+ years sales experience
  • Have sold products priced in the $5-20k/yr range
  • Have sold SaaS
  • Located in the SF and willing to commute to the office

Nice to Haves

  • You have sold to tech companies
  • You have sold to customer support or success personas
