About the role

We’re Secoda, the second brain for your data team that makes finding metadata, queries, charts and documentation as easy as a google search. Our powered platform supports hundreds of data teams at the world’s fastest growing enterprises, including Ramp, Angel list, and Paystack. We recently raised Seed funding of $2M by Craft Ventures and YCombinator!

As a Sales Development Representative, you are the first point of contact for Secoda's potential clients. You'll become an expert on our product, consulting with prospective customers across different industries and finding ways that Secoda can help. As a small company, you would be one of the first hires on our business side and would shape the culture and company for future employees. If you are looking forward to rolling up your sleeves and making an impact by contributing not only to the growth but also to the company you're working with, this role is definitely for you.

About You You are motivated and have a bias for action. You have excellent written and verbal communication skills. You are highly empathetic and are able to easily develop connections with people. You are always learning, crave feedback, and are excited about being in an accelerated environment. 0-2 years experience in a B2B product doing sales is a plus!

Outcomes Crafting and deploying personalized email and LinkedIn campaigns to prospective customers. Qualifying prospective customers on video and phone calls. Becoming a Secoda product expert. Developing new outbound prospecting strategies, and optimizing existing ones. Using modern sales tools including Outreach, Linkedin and Salesforce. Working to maintain and improve CRM data quality. Collaborating with founders and AE's to build long-term relationships with new accounts.

At Secoda there are many interesting technical challenges that come when building a collaborative data knowledge base. To give an idea of some of the projects you could be working on, here's an overview of some of the pieces of technology we've built so far.

Secoda's platform is built on top of a PostgresSQL database that makes organizing data resources and finding the between them simple and flexible. We have designed our own SQL parser to automatically find the lineage of data resources in a company's data ecosystem. We have created a SQL editor to run queries against popular data warehouses and built charting capabilities to showcase query results. We've implemented a task engine to schedule and run concurrent extractions from data sources. All of the components in Secoda are organized into a micro-service architecture leveraging Docker containers in AWS.
