Rove is building the first accessible and universal airline mile, redeemable across dozens of international airlines and hotel chains worldwide.

A Senior Mobile Engineer (React Native) at Rove will be a product-driven builder, primarily responsible for developing and owning our iOS and Android mobile applications. This role involves designing seamless travel booking, rewards earning, and miles redemption experiences while working closely with backend systems, payments infrastructure, and loyalty integrations. A strong emphasis is placed on performance, security, and crafting a premium consumer-grade user experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Own the development and maintenance of Rove’s React Native mobile applications across iOS and Android.
• Architect scalable mobile infrastructure, ensuring performance, reliability, and clean state management.
• Build intuitive booking, search, wallet, and rewards experiences that simplify complex travel flows.
• Collaborate closely with backend engineers on APIs powering flights, hotels, dining, shopping, and miles transfers.
• Implement strong mobile security practices to protect authentication, payments, and customer data.
• Drive mobile product velocity, shipping fast while maintaining high UX and code quality standards.
• Contribute to overall product strategy and ensure mobile is a core growth and engagement channel.

Qualifications:

• Obsessed with travel and airline loyalty.
• Has redeemed an award flight or understands what makes miles valuable.
• Strong experience building and shipping production-grade React Native applications.
• Deep understanding of mobile architecture, performance optimization, and debugging.
• Proficiency in TypeScript and modern React patterns (hooks, state management, navigation).
• Strong product intuition and ability to translate complex flows into simple UI.
• Exceptional problem-solving ability and attention to detail.

Desirable Skills:

• Experience building consumer fintech or travel applications.
• Familiarity with mobile CI/CD, app store deployment, and release management.
• Experience with analytics, growth experiments, and improving conversion through UX.
• Comfort working in a fast-moving startup environment with high ownership.
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across engineering, design, and marketing.

Additional Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field preferred but not required.
• Previous experience at an early-stage startup or small team strongly preferred.
