Firecrawl is the easiest way to extract data from the web. Developers use us to reliably convert URLs into LLM-ready markdown or structured data with a single API call. In just a year, we’ve hit millions in ARR and 60k+ GitHub stars by building the fastest way for developers to get LLM-ready data.
Previously, we built Mendable, one of the first commercially available “chat with your data” applications. We sold to companies like MongoDB, Coinbase, Snapchat, and more. To do this, we spent a surprising amount of time building reliable infrastructure for getting clean data from the web. When we started to see our founding friends rebuilding the same thing, we thought we might be on to something.
You'll own and evolve Firecrawl's visual presence — from social and motion to landing pages and occasional product UI. We're happy with our current design direction. This role is about extending it, tightening it, and making the system more consistent, more polished, and more scalable as we ship faster. No coding required. Just beautiful work.
Salary Range: $130,000–$190,000/year (Range shown is for U.S.-based employees in San Francisco, CA. Compensation outside the U.S. is adjusted fairly based on your country's cost of living. You can explore how we calculate this here: https://www.firecrawl.dev/careers/compensation.)
Equity Range: Up to 0.10%
Location: Remote; access to SF HQ if local
Job Type: Full-Time
Experience: 3+ years in design or equivalent portfolio depth
Visa: US Citizenship/Visa required for SF

We're a small, fast-moving, technical team building essential infrastructure super-intelligence will use to gather data on the web. We ship fast and deep.
Create social content that stops the scroll (X/Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube)
Design motion graphics/animations for launches, announcements, and campaigns
Build marketing visuals for blog posts, newsletters, ads, and docs
Design and iterate on website pages and landing pages (speed + conversion mindset)
Contribute to product UI when needed (systems-thinking, clean components)
Maintain and gradually evolve Firecrawl's brand system (not a rebrand)
Turn complex technical ideas into visuals developers actually want to look at
Share work early, iterate quickly, and keep stakeholders unblocked with clear async updates
Taste that's obvious at a glance. Strong typography, spacing, composition, color — you make "simple" look elite. Your portfolio doesn't need explaining.
Craft and attention to detail. You ship clean work. Alignment is never off, spacing is never "close enough," and you catch what others miss.
Range without quality drops. Social → web → motion → light UI, and the bar stays high across all of them.
Speed without sacrificing polish. You move fast and iterate in the open. You don't disappear into a cave and emerge with a reveal — you share early, take feedback well, and ship.
Figma fluency. Organized, component-minded, clean files. Others can pick up where you left off.
Motion skills. After Effects, Rive, Lottie, or similar — you can make things move in ways that feel intentional, not decorative.
Ownership over ambiguity. You take a loose brief and turn it into a shipped asset. You present options with rationale, not just "which do you like?"
Backgrounds that often do well: Designers at startups or developer-focused companies. People who've shipped across brand, marketing, and product without needing separate teams for each.
Pixel-pushers who wait for specs. If you need a detailed brief and redlines before you can start, this isn't your role. You'll often be working from a sentence or a Slack message.
Portfolio-over-output designers. We care about what you ship, how fast, and whether it moves the needle — not whether your case studies have the prettiest transitions.
Brand purists who can't move fast. We love consistency, but not at the cost of speed. If you'd rather debate a color token for a week than ship a good-enough launch asset today, this won't be a fit.
We operate at an absurd level of urgency because the window for what we're building won't stay open forever. If that excites you, keep reading. If it doesn't, no hard feelings — but this role probably isn't for you.
Salary that makes sense — $170,000–215,000/year (SF, U.S.-based), based on impact, not tenure
Own a piece — Up to 0.20% equity in what you're helping build
Generous PTO — 15 days mandatory, anything after 24 days, just ask (holidays excluded); take the time you need to recharge
Parental leave — 12 weeks fully paid, for moms and dads
Wellness stipend — $100/month for the gym, therapy, massages, or whatever keeps you human
Learning & Development - Expense up to $1000/year toward anything that helps you grow professionally
Team offsites — A change of scenery, minus the trust falls
Sabbatical — 3 paid months off after 4 years, do something fun and new
Full coverage, no red tape — Medical, dental, and vision (100% for employees, 50% for spouse/kids) — no weird loopholes, just care that works
Life & Disability insurance — Employer-paid short-term disability, long-term disability, and life insurance — coverage for life's curveballs
Supplemental options — Optional accident, critical illness, hospital indemnity, and voluntary life insurance for extra peace of mind
Doctegrity telehealth — Talk to a doctor from your couch
401(k) plan — Retirement might be a ways off, but future-you will thank you
Pre-tax benefits — Access to FSAs and commuter benefits (US-only) to help your wallet out a bit
Pet insurance — Because fur babies are family too
SF HQ perks — Snacks, drinks, team lunches, intense ping pong, and peak startup energy
E-Bike transportation — A loaner electric bike to get you around the city, on us
Application Review – Send us your portfolio + a quick note on why this excites you. We care more about shipped work than polished case studies.
Design & Scenario Interview (~45 min) – Walk us through your process on real work, then tackle a live design scenario. We're looking for taste, speed of thinking, and how you navigate ambiguity — not rehearsed case studies.
Founder Chat (~30 min) – Culture, pace, ownership, and how you like to work. Time for your questions too.
Paid Work Trial (1–2 weeks) – Test drive the real thing: ship real design assets the team actually uses.
Decision – We move fast after the trial.
If you've ever wanted to be the design voice behind one of the fastest-growing AI infrastructure startups, this is your shot.
