About Miracle

At Miracle, our mission is to improve healthcare using technology, starting by accelerating clinical trials to bring new therapeutics to patients faster.

Miracle serves as the control room for clinical trials. Our platform consolidates data from multiple trial systems into real-time dashboards, providing automated insights that empower clinical-stage biopharmaceutical companies to streamline operations, reduce manual workflows, and accelerate data-driven decision-making. We power clinical trials across a wide variety of therapeutic areas, including CNS disorders (i.e. autism, social anxiety disorder, Parkinson's), rare diseases, cardiovascular diseases, and neuromuscular conditions.

Already profitable and growing rapidly, Miracle has helped biopharma companies save 3-4 months in clinical trials, driving faster FDA approvals and ultimately improving patient outcomes.

About the Role

As a Customer Data Engineer, you’ll sit at the intersection of data engineering, customer success, and product.

You’ll work directly with biotech customers to answer urgent questions, build dashboards and analyses, and translate messy clinical trial data into decisions teams can act on immediately. You’ll own customer-facing delivery end-to-end, and you’ll partner closely with product and engineering teams to provide input on roadmaps.

This is not an internal analytics role and not a ticket factory. You’ll be expected to think, prioritize, and execute independently.

If you’re someone who likes being close to users, takes pride in shipping work that directly impacts customers, and want to wear multiple hats (data, customer-facing, product), this role will feel energizing.

What You’re Looking For

  • An opportunity to work directly with users and seeing the impact of your work quickly
  • A role that combines technical depth with customer-facing clarity and initiative
  • A fast-growing team that values speed, clarity, and user-focused execution over heavy process
  • Meaningful ownership where you’re empowered to figure out what needs to be done, not just what’s asked
  • A chance to wear multiple hats (i.e. data, product) to help build scalable, repeatable solutions, not one-off analyses

What You’ll Do

  • Own customer-facing analytics and data requests end-to-end, from intake and clarification through delivery and follow-up
  • Translate clinical trial questions into robust data workflows, dashboards, and data models
  • Build and maintain reusable, production-grade dashboards used directly by customers
  • Work closely with customers in meetings to understand study goals, priorities, and constraints
  • Identify patterns across customer requests and help map them to scalable, repeatable solutions
  • Work closely with the CEO, product, and engineering to improve data workflows, tooling, and product direction
  • Help templatize and scale customer analytics to support data integration and interoperability across clinical trials

What You’ll Need to Succeed:

  • Fluency in SQL and Python: You can wrangle messy data and build dashboards that actually drive decisions
  • Customer-facing comfort: You’ve worked with stakeholders and/or customers, and know how to ask the right questions to clarify needs
  • Comfortable owning deliverables independently without detailed instructions
  • You’re proactive, organized, and don’t need hand-holding. You’re accountable, ask smart questions, and ship fast
  • Experience working in clinical trials, life sciences, or regulated data environments is a plus, but not required

Our Culture

At Miracle, we believe in smart, sustainable work over burnout. We rapidly iterate on our products, remain laser-focused on user needs, and have fun as we build with purpose.

We work together in our San Francisco office at least 3 days a week (Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday).

Our culture is built on a few key principles:

  • No Judgment: We encourage questions and open dialogue to foster innovation.
  • Open Communication & Transparency: We share ideas and progress openly, ensuring that we make better decisions together.
  • Have Fun: We strive to make work feel like a collaborative, high-impact environment rather than a dull grind. Whether it’s bowling night, wine tastings at Napa, or cheering on the Warriors or Giants together, we make time to celebrate and bond as a team.
Interview Process
  1. Initial Screen (30-45 min): Background, motivation, and role fit
  2. Technical Take-Home Exercise: Build a set of dashboards from sample data (3–4 hours). You’ll have 24 hours once you start.
  3. On-Site in SF: Review your work, meet the team, and ensure we’re the right fit for each other.
