Oway is solving this massive inefficiency by defining a new category of freight shipping that soley works via the live unused space in active trucks every day. We're building the largest decentralized infrastructure for "rideshare" freight shipping, and enabling anyone to build their company on top of it. We’re using AI, ML, and great design to build a new category of freight shipping that enables businesses to ship freight across the country at up to 50% cheaper than any option available today - with built-in tracking, insurance, and AI-assisted tooling included.

About this Role

We’re a fast-moving team backed by some of the most prominent investors in the world (YC, General Catalyst, etc), and we’re looking for a Senior Full-Stack Software Engineer to help us in our next phase of growth. You’ll work closely with our engineering team to build critical infrastructure for our country, working on cutting-edge projects that integrate with live telemetry systems of thousands of trucks and using AI to detour, route, and price their capacity.

What You’ll Do

• Own features end-to-end — from concept and design through deployment and monitoring.
• Work across our stack: Java (Spring) on the backend, TypeScript + React on the frontend, and MongoDB for data.
• Build new product features that directly impact how shipments are priced, matched, and tracked.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Carrier, and Operations teams to ship tools that make real-world impact.
• Help shape the technical culture of an early-stage startup — from architecture decisions to deployment practices.
• Write clean, maintainable code and move fast without breaking things that matter.

Who You Are

• 3+ years of experience as a full-stack or backend engineer.
• Strong command of Java, TypeScript, and React (or similar frameworks).
• Experience building and maintaining production systems end-to-end.
• Comfortable working in fast-paced, ambiguous environments where you have ownership and autonomy.
• Excited by tough, unstructured problems — and motivated by impact over process.
• Strong communicator who thrives in small, cross-functional teams.
• Bonus: familiarity with machine learning, routing optimization, or logistics tech.
