About Beam

Cloud computing is broken.

AI has introduced a new generation of workloads, like GPU inference, sandboxes, and agents. These aren't ordinary applications that can be run as Lambdas, or Dockerized apps on VMs: they're massive, stateless containers that need to spin up in <1s, often across multiple clouds and regions.

Today, engineers are hacking together infra that breaks under real-world loads. That's where we come in.

Our mission is to build the world's best compute platform for AI. Our first product is a serverless inference platform, used by companies like Coca Cola, Geospy and hundreds more. We've built our own container runtime, called beta9, which is designed for launching GPU-backed containers in under 1s.

We're a small, highly-technical team, with backgrounds in distributed systems and robotics. We've raised $7M from YC, Tiger, Guy Podjarny (Founder of Snyk), and Jason Warner (former CTO of Github).

We're searching for intensely curious, passionate, and hard-working engineers to join our mission in rebuilding the cloud for the age of AI.

About the role

Beam is building the fastest cloud runtime for AI. Our serverless runtime launches GPU-backed containers in under one second, powering apps that scale to millions of users. Ambitious startups and Fortune 100 companies use Beam to host custom ML models and run LLM-generated code in secure sandboxes.

Beam powers millions of requests a day for hundreds of companies using us in production. We’re a small team, but we ship quickly and work collaboratively. We’re based in NYC and SF, so we’d like if you were in either of those cities, but we’re open to remote candidates if there’s a strong fit.

What you’ll work on

  • Customer-focused growth strategy: Deep-dive into our usage data, talk directly to customers, and uncover the growth levers that matter most for developer tools
  • Inbound lead generation: Design and execute creative experiments across channels to drive qualified leads for our sales team
  • Growth experimentation: Run tests across acquisition, activation, and retention - from messaging experiments to new channel exploration
  • Performance marketing: Own our paid channels and optimize for pipeline generation
  • Content and messaging: Craft compelling narratives that resonate with technical decision-makers and turn prospects into customers

What we’re looking for

  • You’ve previously in a technical software role and you’re looking to transition to GTM work
  • Comfortable automating workflows using tools like n8n, Gumloop, Clay, and others
  • Familiar with analytics tools like Posthog, Amplitude, and Segment
  • Strong writing skills; you’re able to craft a well-written cold email in under 5 minutes
  • Ability to think outside the box; you can brainstorm new channels, experiments, and outreach campaigns
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented; you don’t miss the little details and won’t skip a follow-up

Benefits

  • Competitive salary with meaningful equity
  • Health, dental, vision, 401(k)
  • Join a fast-growing pre-series A company at the ground floor
  • Fitness stipend, learning budget, quarterly team offsites
Technology

Our infra code is mostly Go, our backend APIs are Python, and our dashboard is React/Typescript. We work very closely with customers – they’re all in a communal Slack channel with us, so it’s important that you’re interested in interacting with them (luckily, our customers are all developers).
