About the Role

We’re looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join the team and help shape the future of our engineering systems and product. This is a unique opportunity to have a huge impact from day one — you’ll roll up your sleeves to design systems, write code, and ship features that set the standard for technical excellence, collaboration, and product thinking.

This is a hands-on role: you’ll design systems, write code, ship features, and influence technical and product direction. You’ll partner closely with product, design, and operations to bring ambitious ideas to life — from first sketch to launch. We’re looking for someone who thrives in ambiguity, moves quickly, and gets energy from seeing their work make a direct impact on customers and the business.

This position is based in Los Angeles, CA.

The compensation for this role is between $140k to $160k. 

What you’ll do:

• Take full ownership of projects from idea to production — scoping, designing, building, and shipping.
• Lay the foundation for our technical stack: establish patterns, libraries, and practices that will scale as we grow.
• Work directly with leadership to shape product and technical strategy.
• Partner with product and design to define and deliver user-focused features with real impact.
• Build for today while keeping an eye on tomorrow — balancing scrappy speed with long-term scalability.
• Contribute to a strong engineering culture rooted in collaboration, velocity, and high standards.
• Drive alignment across engineering and product on priorities, tradeoffs, and execution.
• Collaborate with teammates to foster a culture of accountability, learning, and velocity.

What you'll need:

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Proven ability to ship high-quality products end-to-end — from system design to launch.
• Strong product sense: you care deeply about user experience and business outcomes, not just code quality.
• Track record of cross-functional collaboration with product, design, and operations teams.
• Experience in system design, architecture, and scaling modern web applications.
• Strong communication skills — able to distill technical tradeoffs into clear recommendations.
• Fintech or payments experience is a plus, but not required.
• Early-stage startup experience is a plus, but not required.
• Comfort with ambiguity and a “get shit done” mentality in fast-changing environments.
