About the role

HackerRank helps thousands of companies hire and upskill developers, and millions of developers learn on the ethos of skills over pedigree. As we work on this mission, we are leveraging our expertise and strengths to scale another frontier -- making AI better in software development. The biggest bottleneck to make this happen is high-quality data and skilled experts for fine-tuning. HackerRank has both. Over the last decade, we have honed our skills in creating curated datasets and building a community of vetted experts across various domains. We are using this to unlock a new business - Astra.

Astra provides frontier models with curated datasets and annotation services. We’re already partnering with leading labs and generating eight-figure revenues. We’re looking for a founding Account Executive to partner closely with our leadership team and captain large, transformational data deals. This is not a traditional sales seat. It's a chance to shape the trajectory of a business line from the ground up.

What you’ll do 

  • Lead all sales efforts, including new business sales and expanding existing customers. 
  • Pioneer the playbook for growth, staying ahead of trends in AI and the developer ecosystem.
  • Partner with leadership to shape the go-to-market strategy for Astra, including pricing, positioning, and commercial models that build a scalable, recurring-revenue stream.
  • Partner with product and engineering to launch new data offerings.

Who you are

  • Entrepreneurial and high-agency - you thrive in zero-to-one environments, build what you need (decks, 1-pagers, processes), and turn ambiguity into clear action.
  • Strong presenter who makes technical and business concepts clear to any audience.
  • Fluent in AI model development, able to discuss concepts like SFT, RLHF, and data’s role in training.
  • High intellectual horsepower - quick to grasp complex ideas, connect the dots, and adapt in fast-moving markets while building lasting relationships.

Even better if you have

  • Experience in data, API, or platform sales, with exposure to AI labs, foundation model teams, or enterprise AI leaders.
  • A strong AI network and genuine curiosity about what’s next in model training and data.
Technology

We work across a modern, scalable tech stack: React, TypeScript, Node.js, Ruby on Rails, Go, Kafka, Kubernetes, AWS, and Postgres. Our engineering team builds products that directly impact how developers get discovered, evaluated, and hired globally. We're currently building next-gen developer workflows using AI; think intelligent auto-scoring, AI-powered question generation, and adaptive skill insights. We’re also reimagining core experiences across assessments, interviews, and candidate engagement to make hiring faster, fairer, and more human.
