#1 Build on the bleeding edge of applied AI: just barely possible, requires research & experimentation, but once we figure it out we ship it and it makes a lot of impact. #2 It feels good to care: you're done changing buttons and are ready to change lives. #3 Our team includes AI product leaders from Google, engineering talent from Brex, physician executives from major health systems, & more. #4 We're growing fast with more demand than we can onboard. #5 Beautiful working space! #6 Competitive comp & perks!
Asha Health is building the future of self-learning for healthcare generative AI. We're backed by Y Combinator, General Catalyst, 186 Ventures, Reach Capital and many more. We recently raised an oversubscribed seed round from some of the best investors in Silicon Valley. Our team includes AI product leaders from companies like Google, physician executives from major health systems, and more.
We're looking for an "insanely cracked engineer" to join our engineering team. We're looking for someone who is an all-rounder, but has particularly exceptional backend engineering skills. Our ideal candidate has built AI agents and leveraged clever engineering techniques to improve latency & reliability for complex workflows.
This role will be in person working with the 2 founders 6 days per week, so safe to say you will get close! If you are a go-getter and have the intensity it takes to win, this role could be for you. If this does not align with your current goals it may not be the best fit and we would recommend you do not apply.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to build state-of-the-art AI agents across several modalities. You will be horizontal across our engineering team, experimenting and implementing novel AI/ML techniques to improve performance and reliability of various AI agents.
You'll get to wear many hats. Here is some of the fun stuff you will do:
Bonus:
#1 We’ve got problems. A lot of them. Particularly, the really tough, barely possible, yet really fascinating to engineer kind. Come live on the ~~cutting~~ bleeding edge. Everyone on our team pushes the boundaries of self-learning and applied AI within high stakes industries. We collaborate with leading companies in this space to unlock new capabilities every 2 weeks that weren’t possible before. Nearly all of our engineering work is on the cusp of applied AI: just barely possible, requires research & experimentation, but once we figure it out we ship it and it makes a lot of impact.
#2 It feels good to care: A“job” can sometimes feel like selling a piece of your soul for money. But when you join an early stage startup, you’re not really signing up for a job. You’re embarking on a “mission”, an unrelenting pursuit in which you dare to try to bend the universe around your vision, knowing that if in the off-chance it works, nothing will ever be the same.
Our only guarantee to you is that your mission, should you choose to accept it, will get you out of bed excited, with anticipation, probably kind of scared (?) — but you’ll care and that’ll feel refreshing. How do we know that? Because we understand a few fundamental truisms about the world, and about you:
#3 I guess we’re kind of cool. Folks we’ve got on our team: AI product leaders from Google, engineering talent from Brex, physician executives from major health systems, & more. We’ve got a bunch of doctors who are our friends and have got our backs. We’re growing rapidly with more customer interest than we can onboard, and some of us have fairly special* talents!
#4 Beautiful working space! Natural light reduces depression and anxiety by a non trivial percent. True story.
You will have the opportunity to work on the most cutting edge AI features, including SOTA AI agents, LLM-powered tools, and voice agents as well. You'll work on shipping features end-to-end, while discovering techniques to make our AI agents more performant (reliability, accuracy, latency, etc).
