The Role
At Relixir, customers don’t just use our product — they run their growth engine on it. Your role as a Forward Deployed Engineer is to sit at the intersection of customer success and deep technical engineering, embedding with our customers, understanding their growth problems, and shipping features that directly solve them.
This is not a standard “customer success” role. You’ll be writing production code, architecting new features, and deploying fixes — all while working shoulder-to-shoulder with global marketing teams at companies like Rippling, Airwallex, and HackerRank.
You’ll serve as the connective tissue between our customers and our engineering team, ensuring customer feedback doesn’t just get logged — it gets shipped.
What You’ll Work On
Customer Engineering:
- Work directly with customers to uncover growth opportunities, workflow gaps, and technical blockers.
- Design creative solutions to customer pain points using Relixir’s stack and AI workflows.
- Translate ambiguous customer needs into concrete product improvements.
Product Development:
- Ship customer-driven features end-to-end: from rough spec → production deployment.
- Debug issues in live customer environments, triage problems, and push fixes quickly.
- Extend our core platform — building integrations, APIs, and automation pipelines.
AI Search Systems:
- Work with large-scale LLM pipelines (GPT, Gemini, Perplexity) powering Relixir’s GEO/AI Search automation.
- Improve retrieval workflows (RAG with Qdrant) and help customers capture more AI search share-of-voice.
- Optimize performance and ensure customer deployments scale reliably.
About You
-
Hybrid Operator — You thrive at the intersection of customer engagement and deep technical problem-solving.
-
Builder’s Mindset — You don’t just hand off feedback; you own the fix and ship it to production.
-
Customer Obsessed — You want to sit with marketing leaders, hear their pain, and turn it into working software.
-
Technical Athlete — Strong engineering background with proficiency in Python and TypeScript.
-
High Agency — You are scrappy, fast, and relentless in solving problems with incomplete information.
Must-Haves
- In-person SF (this role is embedded and fast-moving — async won’t cut it).
- 2–5 years engineering experience at a startup or fast-paced environment.
- Strong coding skills in Python + TypeScript (our core stack: FastAPI, Postgres, AWS ECS/Fargate, Qdrant).
- Comfort owning full customer workflows: from running an onsite workshop to shipping the feature they need.
- Strong debugging skills, production readiness, and bias to action.
Nice-to-Haves
- Experience working directly with customers in technical contexts (solutions engineer, FDE, founder, etc.).
- Prior experience with LLM systems, RAG, or AI workflows in production.
- Familiarity with AWS ECS + SQS + Lambda, Qdrant, Supabase.
- Entrepreneurial background or future founder mindset.
Why This Role is Special
- You’ll have a direct line to both customers and the product roadmap — shaping how Relixir evolves.
- You’ll see your work move the needle for logos like Airwallex, Rippling, HackerRank within weeks.
- You’ll work on the frontier of AI search optimization (GEO/AEO)— a $400B+ category that’s reshaping how companies grow.
- You’ll join a YC-backed rocketship growing 166% MoM with monster logos already onboard.
We’re not looking for someone to “support customers.” We’re looking for someone to build Relixir alongside us, in the field, with customers at your side.
