Flower Labs is the world-class AI startup behind the open-source project Flower, the #1 framework and ecosystem for training AI on distributed data using federated learning. Companies like Banking Circle, Nokia, and Brave use Flower to easily improve their AI models on sensitive data that is distributed across organizational silos or user devices. Almost all AI today is based on centralized public data — a small fraction of the data we have; we believe that training on orders of magnitude more data will unlock the next leaps in AI. Flower Labs (YCW23) is backed by Y-combinator and prominent venture capital firms and angel investors including Felicis, First Spark Ventures, Mozilla Ventures, Factorial Capital, Hugging Face CEO Clem Delangue, Betaworks, and Pioneer Fund.
Are you excited to shape the voice of a fast-growing AI platform that’s redefining how the world builds intelligent systems? Do you want to drive awareness, education, and adoption of the leading open-source framework for federated and decentralized AI - already trusted by Fortune 500 companies and over 6,000 developers worldwide?
At Flower Labs, we’re looking for a passionate content creator to craft high-impact stories and technical content that resonates with developers, researchers, and enterprises alike. As our Content Lead, you’ll play a foundational role in amplifying our mission, shaping our narrative, and reaching a global audience - all while working with a remote-first team that values autonomy, creativity, and deep technical thinking.
Flower Labs is the world-class AI startup behind Flower, the most popular open-source framework in the world for training AI on distributed data and compute resources using federated learning. Trusted by industry leaders such as Mozilla, Banking Circle, Samsung, Temenos and Bosch, Flower enables organizations to improve their AI models on sensitive data that remains securely distributed across organizational silos or user devices. In a world where most AI relies on centralized public datasets — just a fraction of the data available — we believe unlocking access to (orders of magnitude more) private data will drive the next breakthroughs in artificial intelligence.
Flower Labs is a Y Combinator (YCW23) graduate and backed by top-tier investors and renowned angels, including Felicis, First Spark Ventures, Mozilla Ventures, Hugging Face CEO Clem Delangue, GitHub Co-Founder Scott Chacon, Factorial Capital, Betaworks, and Pioneer Fund. Together, we are redefining how AI is built, deployed, and scaled.
As our Content Lead, you’ll own the end-to-end content strategy for Flower Labs - shaping how the world discovers, understands, and engages with our open-source platform for federated and decentralized AI.
This is a hands-on, high-impact role at the intersection of developer education, technical storytelling, and community engagement. You’ll work closely with our research, engineering, and growth teams to craft compelling narratives that speak to developers, researchers, enterprises, and the broader ML ecosystem.
You’ll lead with creativity and clarity, turning complex ideas into content that informs, inspires, and drives adoption.

You can expect a mission-driven, collaborative, fast-paced start-up environment with experts in their respective fields. Everyone learns something new every day. Since we are still in the early phases of our mission (i.e., taking decentralized AI mainstream), you will have many opportunities to contribute ideas, be heard, and influence the direction of the company across the board. On a personal level, we value collaboration over competition. We're working in a highly competitive field and believe we can only win by collaborating and acting as one team.
We are seeking a strategic, hands-on content leader who is passionate about developer education, open-source ecosystems, and shaping the future of AI through world-class content.
Flower's core infrastructure leverages Python, complemented by a suite of client-side SDKs in languages like C++, Kotlin, Swift, JavaScript, and more. Our networking backbone predominantly relies on gRPC, ensuring robust and efficient communication.
Meanwhile, our web platform is built with Next.js, React, TypeScript and Postgres. We use primarily but not exclusively AWS for hosting.
Joining the Flower team means embracing a profound challenge: How can we federate global machine learning efforts, incorporating diverse datasets into AI training without compromising data privacy? This challenge mandates retaining data at its source while ensuring its utmost security and privacy.
