TaxGPT is building AI-powered tools that help accountants do their best work, faster. We’ve raised $4.6M in funding and are growing quickly. We're looking for a Tech Lead who thrives in fast-paced environments, codes daily, and can drive both system architecture and team execution from the ground up.

This is a hybrid role based in San Francisco—you’ll join us 3 days a week in our 4,000 sq ft office, complete with a gym, pool table, and space designed for deep work and fast collaboration.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Architect and implement scalable infrastructure serving millions of users
• Write production code across our core stack: Python, Go, and TypeScript
• Lead the design and improvement of our CI/CD pipelines and DevOps processes
• Identify bottlenecks in infrastructure and application performance—then fix them
• Perform daily code reviews and uphold best practices in engineering quality
• Run weekly sprint planning with product and engineering leadership
• Lead standups and remove blockers to keep the team shipping smoothly
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to team growth
• Collaborate with remote team members to ensure alignment across time zones

You’re Right for This If You:

• Have scaled systems to millions of users with high uptime and reliability
• Have deep knowledge of CI/CD systems, and bonus if you’ve worked hands-on with tools like GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or CircleCI
• Know how to optimize build and deployment pipelines for speed and resiliency
• Have worked with both microservices and monolithic architectures
• Are fluent in Python, Go, and TypeScript
• Are comfortable with cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, Azure)
• Have a solid understanding of DevOps tooling and automation
• Communicate clearly and can lead in both technical design and day-to-day execution
