Curo helps electric fleets to park and charge when their operations are distributed, we do this by building tools for owners of underutilized EV charging sites to simplify sharing their infra with fleets. We're a 6 person startup rapidly scaling our business unit.
Skills: Design systems, Next.js, Tailwind, JavaScriptWhat’s Curo?
We’re a 9 person startup on a mission to accelerate electrification. We enable commercial fleets to lease EV chargers, helping them to electrify at a fraction of the cost and time. In tandem, we drive additional revenue to owners of EV charging and parking.
- Building charging infrastructure as a fleet is expensive, takes a ton of time and in a lot of cases isn’t possible. Conversely, ensuring a return on investment for EV charging and parking assets is really difficult. To efficiently scale, we need mass visibility, stakeholder management and collaboration → enter Curo.
What's the role?
We're looking for a UI/UX-centric software engineer to own the frontend experience across our mobile and web products. You'll be building workflows used by drivers, fleet managers, and site hosts—all of whom rely on fast, intuitive interfaces to succeed.
You'll:
-
Ship mission-critical surfaces: charger discovery maps, session trackers, onboarding flows—built in React / Next.js + Tailwind + TypeScript and tuned for real-time interactions.
-
Design the paved path: create the component library, animation patterns, and accessibility guardrails every future engineer will rely on.
-
Prototype ↔ validate fast: turn concepts into live experiments, collect driver/host feedback the same afternoon, and iterate without waiting for “perfect.”
-
Raise the performance bar – monitor PostHog funnels for lag or jank, offline-first caching, and low-connectivity fallbacks (parking garages are your proving ground).
-
Keep it clear, never confusing – sit with Ops & BD to turn raw fleet pain points into elegant workflows—and defend simplicity whenever complexity tries to creep in.
-
Partner deeply with backend & data: co-design APIs, real-time feeds, and analytics hooks that make feature work feel friction-less for the whole team.
Who are we looking for?
-
5+ yrs shipping UI/UX in React / Next.js with Tailwind & TypeScript (mobile-first as default).
- Proven design-system ownership: from tokens and theming to doc-site, versioning, and adoption metrics.
- Startup DNA—early employee or founder—comfortable wearing product, design, and eng hats on the same day.
- A track record of building products people love
-
Bonus points for map/geo UI, real-time data (WebSockets, polling, postgres realtime), or prior work in mobility / climate tech.
