About David AI

David AI is the first audio data research company. We bring an R&D approach to data–developing datasets with the same rigor AI labs bring to models.

Our mission is to bring AI into the real world, and we believe audio is the gateway. Speech is versatile, accessible, and human—it fits naturally into everyday life. To unlock the full potential of AI, models need more—and better—audio data. That’s where David AI comes in.

David AI was founded in 2024 by a team of former Scale AI engineers and operators. In less than a year, we’ve brought on most FAANG companies and AI labs as customers. We recently raised a $25M Series A from Tier 1 investors like Jack Altman (Alt Capital), Amplify Partners, First Round Capital, Y Combinator, and more.

Our team is sharp, humble, ambitious, and tight-knit–we love spending time together. We’re looking for the best research, engineering, product and operations minds to join us on our mission to revolutionize audio AI.

About the role

Role and responsibilities

As a Product Manager, you’ll build the systems that power our Data Factory—driving scale, improving quality, and reducing cost, all while creating a better experience for our global network of data contributors and our customers.

This is a hands-on role embedded in operations. You’ll work side-by-side with ops and engineering, own the roadmap for internal tools, and be directly accountable for resolving bottlenecks across onboarding, contributor workflows, quality systems, and delivery infrastructure.

  • Own and execute the roadmap for internal systems that power data collection, processing, and delivery—shipping improvements weekly.
  • Take direct responsibility for delivery metrics in your domain—jumping in to solve operational issues alongside the team.
  • Work closely with Engineering and Operations to scope and prioritize projects based on real-time constraints and production feedback.
  • Build and iterate on contributor-facing workflows, tools, and incentives to improve quality and throughput.
  • Analyze data daily to diagnose issues, guide product decisions, and measure system performance—nothing ships without clear metrics.

Who we’re looking for

  • 2–6 years of experience in product or operating roles in fast-paced environments (startups, consulting, founder experience, etc.).
  • 1-4 years in a Product Manager, Software Engineer, or Technical Program Manager role - experience directly building your own UI mocks (in Figma, etc.) or using SQL is a strong plus.
  • Strong product instincts—you can translate messy problems into clear systems and are comfortable driving from ambiguity to clarity.
  • Obsessive about execution—move fast, sweat the details, and take pride in high-quality output.
  • Deeply collaborative—comfortable working across engineering, operations, and design to get things shipped.
  • Process-aware—naturally see where systems break down and take initiative to improve them.
  • High ownership mindset—focused on outcomes, not docs, and always willing to do the unglamorous work.

Compensation and benefits

  • Rapid career growth, at one of the fastest growing Series A companies, within a new and booming industry.
  • Competitive salary and equity package.
  • Flexible PTO policy.
  • Top-notch health, dental, and vision coverage with 100% company reimbursement for most plans.
  • Paid lunch and dinner in the office, every day through DoorDash.
  • 401k access.
