As Founding Full-stack Engineer at Tally, you’ll play a crucial role in building the initial product experience and APIs, agentic systems, and internal tools to transform a massive tax and accounting services industry. We’re well funded by top investors and have years of runway.

As a Founding Engineer, you will:

• Contribute to the technical vision and product direction as a core team member
• Design, develop, test, and support features for our web and backend applications
• Architect and build cutting-edge AI document extraction and agentic systems
• Take ownership of projects from concept to production
• Work with the latest large language models and cutting edge AI
• Collaborate directly with customers, accounting firms, and platform partners

Tech stack: Next.js, TypeScript, Python, Tailwind, React, PostgreSQL, Supabase, OpenAI, Anthropic, Reducto.

Who you are

• Customer and product obsessed
• Excited about solving unsolved problems
• Capable of growing into a leadership position and running an engineering team
• Have 2+ years of startup engineering experience; studied CS/AI or have equivalent experience
• Have built and shipped products to end users from 0 to 1
• Are fast at 0 to 1, but also thoughtful about how your technical decisions will scale over time
• Sweat the details (no problem is too small)

Interview process

1. Chat with founder (30 mins)
2. Technical interview (combination of live coding, systems design, and discussing past projects) (1 hour)
3. SF on-site to work on a real-world feature alongside founder (few days, weekend)
