About Wefunder

We're the Robinhood for pre-IPO startups. We allow everyone to invest $100 in a startup they love.

Over the past five years, we've helped fund over 900 startups with $500m – including flying cars, space rockets, breweries, Hollywood studios, and potential Ebola cures.

We’re now doubling the size of our team to handle the growth. Trying to keep up!

We’re also a public benefit corporation with a mission of saving the American Dream (https://wefunder.com/charter). Our aim is to sprinkle the Silicon Valley fairy dust across the rest of the country, which often don’t have the same opportunities we take for granted.

About the role

Wefunder helps everyday people invest in the startups they love

Wefunder is the largest funding platform connecting founders with their communities. We spent years lobbying congress to fix the law, and in turn, created this industry. Since then, we've helped fund thousands of pre-IPO startups with $500M+, from early-stage moonshots to unicorns. We built this space from the ground up, and now we’re looking for someone help more founders launch a Community Round.

We’re a team of founder types. Your potential matters more than your background or experience; we’re the company where you can take your shot. Everyone is here to learn and grow, to work on a meaningful product, and to fix capitalism.

Benefits

Note: This position is based in our San Francisco office.

  • Salary Range: $75,000 - 85,000 / year
  • Generous stock options package.
  • Unlimited vacation days with no less than 3 weeks off.
  • Full team Wefunder retreat once a year.
  • Medical, dental, & vision insurance.

  • Lots of free food and drinks. That includes daily lunch and weekly team dinners.
  • We host regular networking events with startup founders in our SF office.
  • Classes & conferences. If you can learn something useful, we'll pay for it.

Your Role

  • Help founders have wildly successful Community Rounds on Wefunder. This role is about 50% working directly with founders and 50% operations/compliance.
  • Be on the frontlines. Email and call with founders, help their investors, and solve problems internally with the rest of the team. You’re the main point of contact for founders and are at the center of it all.
  • Make campaigns official with the government. Assemble and review fundraising offering documents to be filed with the SEC. Review contracts, cross-reference financial statements, and juggle feedback from legal teams.
  • Help founders raise money. Provide fundraising advice, craft stellar outreach plans, and give pitch feedback.
  • Manage a robust pipeline of companies. Keep track of dozens of campaigns and know them like the back of your hand.
  • Be the internal champion for founders raising on Wefunder. Advocate for them, empathize with them, and set clear expectations for them. Strive to turn your founders into evangelists for Wefunder.

Skills & Experience

  • You ruthlessly prioritize. You will be the primary point person for founders as they go through the crazy process of fundraising and you’ll have dozens of competing priorities. You know how to separate the wheat from the chaff.
  • You have incredible attention to detail. You can catch errors in investment contracts and make sure that balls don’t get dropped when dealing with dozens of founders. You take pride in a job well done.
  • You’re an excellent communicator. You can code-switch between building rapport with CEOs, alleviating concerns from skeptical CFOs, discussing valuations with investors, and fielding questions from diligent attorneys. You can clearly translate complex ideas and processes into easy to understand next steps.
  • You’re extremely accountable and reliable. If you say you’ll do something, it’ll get done.
  • You thrive in ambiguity. You’re comfortable learning quickly and asking a lot of questions. You prefer being thrown in the deep end and aspire to learn every small detail about the fundraising process.
  • You believe #ABC (Always Be Closing). You know how to look for selling opportunities throughout the funnel.

If you feel like you don't meet all of the points above, but love this role, we encourage you to apply anyways. We don't want a confidence gap and imposter syndrome to get in the way of meeting incredible candidates.
