Key Responsibilities

  1. Create High-Quality Technical Drawings
    • Convert customer-provided 3D models or into detailed 2D drawings/MBD files compliant with ASME Y14.5, ISO GPS, or other customer standards.
    • Ensure accuracy in dimensions, tolerances (GD&T), annotations, and BOMs.
  2. Develop Training Datasets for AI
    • Generate diverse, industry-specific technical drawings to train and improve DraftAid’s AI algorithms.
    • Collaborate with AI engineers to identify patterns, edge cases, and optimization opportunities.
  3. Review & Validate AI-Generated Drawings
    • Audit outputs from DraftAid’s AI for compliance, clarity, and manufacturability.
    • Provide actionable feedback to refine the AI’s drafting logic, error detection, and standards adherence.
  4. Collaborate Cross-Functionally
    • Work with engineering, QA, and AI teams to align drafting practices with customer needs and industry trends.
    • Document best practices and contribute to internal knowledge bases.
  5. Quality Assurance
    • Perform rigorous checks to ensure drawings meet client specifications and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • 3,000+ technical drawings created over your career (portfolio required).
  • 5+ years in drafting, with preference for automotive, aerospace, or high-precision manufacturing.
  • Expertise in CAD software (SolidWorks, Inventor, CATIA, etc.).
  • Mastery of GD&T, ASME/ISO standards, and design-for-manufacturing principles.
  • Obsessive attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to communicate feedback clearly (written/verbal).
  • Passion for innovation in technical drafting and AI technology.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Leadership experience mentoring junior drafters.
  • Proficiency in CAD automation (a plus).
