About Garage

Garage is modernizing the way equipment is bought and sold, starting with used firefighting equipment.

About the role

Hi! We’re looking for a software engineering intern to join us at Garage this summer.

About Garage:

Garage is the modern marketplace for heavy equipment — starting with fire trucks and firefighting equipment.

Serving fire departments is the first step in our mission to streamline the way heavy equipment is bought and sold, powering the backbone of America's industries.

We're funded by Y Combinator and have been growing quickly! Our small team (ex- Twitter, Ramp, Goldman Sachs, Whatnot, PayPal, Honey) is obsessed with user experience and shipping products end-to-end. As a software engineering intern, you’ll have the opportunity to make a significant impact on our team, reporting directly to the founders and CTO.

Requirements:

  • Strong programming skills, especially in Typescript.
  • Ability and willingness to work in-person in NYC.
  • Readiness to learn and be curious.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience with NextJS, React, and Express.
  • Strong side projects.
  • Desire to serve customers in local governments and emergency services.

About the interview:

  • We do an intro call over Zoom.
  • We give you a take-home assignment.
  • We do an “onsite” (virtual or in-person in NYC) where you meet more of the team.
  • We give you a decision within a week.

Perks:

  • Paid, with a $100 / month wellness stipend.
  • Summer team retreat.
  • Events with other Y Combinator companies in NYC.
