Layup is creating AI-native UX experiences, starting with real-time, adaptive assistance that guides users via a second cursor that spawns directly in a product’s UI. This saves teams hours creating product tours and help center content and requires 0 engineering overhead to implement.

We launched in early December, have a massive backlog of implementations, and are growing fast! To that end, we’re looking to make an immediate hire for a Founding Systems Engineer. This role is ideal for someone excited to work at the intersection of B2B and AI and who wants to be at the forefront of the next generation of user adoption tools, all while making a massive impact.

What We’re Looking For

• Proven experience in system design, particularly with large-scale, distributed systems
• A strong passion for building scalable, durable infrastructure that is capable of handling complex workflows
• Excitement about defining new UX paradigms for human-AI interaction and transforming how users engage with software
• Proven ability to deliver intuitive, user-friendly interfaces that serve both technical and non-technical users
• Bonus: Experience working on founding teams or in high-growth, fast-paced startup environments

What You’ll Do

• Own the full software development lifecycle from design to deployment, building at the cutting-edge of agentic architecture
• Interface directly with customers to craft the best possible implementation and long-term user experience
• Take charge of high-impact projects, spanning robust backend systems to seamless and user-friendly interfaces
• Shape engineering culture by establishing standards for code excellence, system scalability, and team collaboration
• Work directly with the founding team and build from the ground up
