Klarity (Y Combinator S18) uses Natural Language Processing to automate contract review for Revenue Recognition. Our customers include multiple Public companies use Klarity to (1) save time and cost, (2) increase compliance through robust controls, and (3) ease the pain of contract review.

We have spent years working on our core NLP platform and recently decided to focus on the Revenue Recognition use case. Since then we’ve experienced extremely strong growth with Enterprise Software companies and have doubled our revenue in just the last 3 months.

Our Gen AI journey: 

Founded in 2017, we shipped multiple NLP/ML product iterations pre-chatGPT. In 2023 we rebuilt our core AI platform using GenAI. 

We’re not your average Gen AI startup, gradually layering LLMs on. We’re all in. We have more than 15 unique LLM use-cases in production with 10+ LLMs under the hood. We have shipped multiple first-of-its-kind customer experiences including video workflow analysis, natural language analytics, complex table parsing, and table-matching. To date, we have processed 600,000+ documents through our GenAI platform.

In this role, you will:

• Conduct high-velocity experiments applying AI techniques to document-understanding tasks, aiming to develop innovative solutions
• Continuously research and integrate the latest applied AI techniques to ensure Klarity remains at the forefront of technology
• Work on applying existing AI models and techniques to solve real-world problems, rather than conducting original research or training new LLMs
• Build, Ship and own the product features powered by GenAI - end-to-end.
• Collaborate with the broader technical team to scale and deploy successful experiments for 1-10 rollout

Preferred qualifications:

• Familiarity with various GenAI methods, including Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), Vision LLMs, small LLMs, and embeddings
• Proven track record of quickly iterating on AI experiments and adapting to new findings and challenges
• Ability to navigate and find solutions in technically ambiguous situations
• Demonstrated ability to rapidly learn and apply the latest state-of-the-art AI techniques

Cool Challenges: Using a mix of statistical and linguistic techniques to perform a high-accuracy information extraction task on "Legalese". Supercharging human lawyers by working closely with lawyers on the team and building useful tools that get deployed immediately. Constructing a robust document processing pipeline that allows for quick onboarding of new contract types and is adaptable to tagset changes.

Stack: Vast majority of the backend codebase is written in python with some internal tools built in javascript. Our Frontend is built in React.js. We use containerized (docker) microservices and host everything on AWS.
