Yondu is creating the robotic workforce of the future starting with logistics automation. We're deploying humanoid robots in the first flexible, drop-in picking automation solution designed for 3PLs. Our approach is building robot foundation models to enable off the shelf robots to do these tasks autonomously. To train these models, we're building our own teleoperation system in house. Finally, there's a whole stack of classical robotics and integration work to make our systems work in the real world . Learning constantly and keeping up with SOTA research is one of the pillars of our company's culture. The company was founded by MIT students and has raised seed funding after graduating from the YC W24 batch. Join us in shaping the way the world works.
If you’re interested in current or future opportunities please put in an application here so we have your name and background on file. We are always open to hiring the best engineers but are not always actively hiring given our limited hiring bandwidth as an early stage startup. We have other roles open up on our site for when we do have active roles but we’ll use this application as a means of being able to reach out.
Here are some of the tasks that you might end up working on; generally they can be split up between focus on “classical” robotics, focus on software and integration layer, and focus on the robot learning side of things.
- Developing perception algorithms for tasks such as few shot object detection and scene recognition.
- Building out the navigation stack which includes multimodal (LiDAR, RGBD, IMU, landmark) SLAM implementations for effective navigation and path planning in structured environments with dynamic obstacles
- Writing software to orchestrate and allocate commands to robots and operators efficiently.
- Integrating our software and planning stack with existing software infrastructure systems used by our customers.
- Coordinating fleets of autonomous robots to navigate and complete tasks in a safe and optimal manner.
- Working on cutting edge teleoperation for easy control of different kinds of robot embodiments.
- Creating data collection and training pipelines for deep learning models to assist in manipulation tasks such as picking, placing, and scanning inventory items.
- Guiding and educating your team members in areas you see fit!
As for experience, we don't have any strict requirement on degree but more experience and eagerness with working on difficult problems in robotics is always nice! We develop out of our office and a 3PL warehouse in the city of Gardena in LA County as well as some other partner warehouses in the Ontario and Fontana area.

We’ll have 2-3 interviews to go over technical skills, projects you would like to take on, and discussions about the role.
