We're seeking an exceptional Applied AI/ML Engineer to join our founding team. If you want to bring AI to the real-world and deliver immediate value to businesses and customers nationwide, we would love to chat!

Responsibilities:

• Architect, build, and maintain real-time conversational AI systems to deliver exceptional accuracy for our automated order taker
• Conduct applied research on new customer-facing challenges we encounter
• Lead product adoption of the latest in generative AI and machine learning research
• Work closely with our customers and analyze data to continuously improve model performance and the customer experience
• Implement machine learning best practices, ensuring maintainability of ML systems in production
• Contribute to the overall technology stack and participate in other technical projects as needed

Requirements:

• Strong Python and production-level software engineering expertise
• Deep understanding of LLMs, prompt engineering, and modern NLP
• Proficiency with Kotlin or Java
• Track record deploying ML systems to real-world applications
• Track record of solving complex technical challenges in ambiguous environments
• Strong collaboration and communication skills, both with team members and external stakeholders 
• Empathy for users and a bias towards taking a customer-centric approach to product development and decision making

Nice-to-haves:

• Experience with Automatic Speech Recognition (ASR)
• Hands-on experience in real-time or low-latency systems
• Working knowledge of TypeScript
• Demonstrated ability building with open source LLMs

Our client application, data pipeline, and ML work are written in Python. Our backend is written in Kotlin using Ktor. It's currently hosted on AWS.
