Key Responsibilities

Data is the lifeblood that powers pharma intelligence, insights, and decision-making. We need to stay up to date on the universe of events happening in pharma. These data sources are complex each with its quirks, and we’ll need to build robust, reliable, and secure pipelines. As a Software Engineer on the Data team at Argon, you will own and lead data engineering projects including web crawling, data ingestion, data modeling, and search. 

1. Data Pipeline Development: Design and build robust, scalable data pipelines to support our AI models. These data pipelines will span the gamut of autonomy: from BeautifulSoup-style html parsers to AI-native agentic crawlers. You'll ensure the smooth flow of data from various sources, making it ready for analysis and deployment in our AI tools. You will also be in charge of leveraging state-of-the-art techniques to process this data, which comes in different forms (text, unstructured documents, images, audio, etc.)
2. Database Management and Optimization: Oversee our databases. You'll focus on optimizing data storage and retrieval, ensuring speed and efficiency while maintaining data integrity and security.
3. Data Modeling: Lead the way to designing data models that best support our users’ experience and workflows, while maintaining a high bar for security.

Who you are

1. Data Engineering wizard. You have a strong track record of building production ready pipelines and robust data pipelines and storage systems.
2. AI native. You are comfortable with multimodal processing of data, as well as chunking, embedding, and vector databases.
3. Ambitious. You are excited about working at a fast growing venture backed start-up. where you will lead and have initiative in managing major projects to completion
4. A hacker. You build quickly, and you find your way to information. Constantly curious and have a serious bias towards action.

Compensation

In consideration of market analysis and relevant factors, the salary range for this position is set between $120,000 and $200,000 and will include generous equity grants. However, adjustments outside of this range may be considered for candidates whose qualifications significantly differ from those outlined in the job description.
