BiteSight is the video-first food delivery app that knows what you are craving. We allow users to swipe up and down to see different restaurants and left and right to see different dishes at each one. As power users of traditional food delivery apps like DoorDash and UberEats, Zac and Lucious saw how the experience of ordering food got worse as the largest food delivery companies shifted their focus to other verticals like groceries, clothing, pet food, and even.... doors (??). This realization led us to build the app we knew should exist—one that’s fun, social, and underpinned by a powerful reccomendation engine.

In just the last six months, we have onboarded over 800 restaurant chains and 10,000+ unique dish videos across New York and San Francisco.

About the Role

As a Founding Engineer at BiteSight, you’ll be key in building and scaling the technical infrastructure that changes the way people order food delivery forever. You’ll work on everything from enhancing our recommendation engine and adding social features to improving video encoding and building the tools that make sure our users get their orders—all to create the food delivery experience of today and tomorrow.

You’ll be joining a small, passionate team of foodies where you’ll have a direct impact on the trajectory and culture of the company. Your contributions will help shape not just our technology, but the future of BiteSight itself.

About You

We don’t care about your age or how many years of experience you have—we’re looking for someone who’s a cracked full-stack engineer, with good CS foundations, ready to tackle whatever challenges we throw your way. If you’ve got the skills and the drive to figure things out and make them work, you’re exactly who we want.

• You love building and have experience across the stack working with technologies including Python, PostgreSQL, and hopefully Swift/Swift UI.
• You thrive in a fast-paced, startup environment and are excited by the ambiguity and challenges that come with building something from the ground up.
• You have a passion for food and technology, and you’re eager to create a product that transforms the food delivery experience for users.
• You’re a clear thinker and communicator, able to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical people.
