Lead Software Engineer Backend & Apps

We are looking for a lead software engineer to join our Koko engineering team who is excited about working on topics in the GenAI and IoT space, interacting with our Voice and sensor enabled hardware-technology. We'd like you to be curious and love the challenge of solving problems. You will be part of a core group that plays a direct role in determining company direction and ultimately the success of the product. The focus of the role is the backend development for our web/mobile apps as well as the data infrastructure to support our IoT devices.

Duties & Responsibilities

• This is a technical position and requires hands-on technical work
• Lead a small but dedicated team of backend, web, mobile, and infrastructure developers
• Backend/Frontend and infrastructure planning, strategy and management
• Backend/Frontend and infrastructure system architecture
• Hands on contributions to our tech stack in Java, PostgresSQL, AWS, TypeScript, React/Native
• In addition you will have the opportunity to learn and work on various parts of our product (embedded device, Gen AI, etc.)

Qualifications

• MS in Computer Science 
• 5-7 years of experience in either backend development and at least 2 years in front-end development
• Strong development experience in building data-driven backends in Java and SQL.
• Typescript experience for backend development is beneficial.
• Development experience in React/React Native, native mobile app development
• Experience managing infrastructure in Terraform.
• Experience managing effective engineering teams from a technical perspective
• Experience writing production ready code, preferably in a product based company
• Excellence at communicating ideas and collaborating in oral and written form with the team
• Strongly prefer someone with healthcare experience at a tech company
