About the role

About the role

This person will report to the CEO. The role will work cross-functionally at the company and will take on a myriad of projects to support Arketa's growth. This person has a “get stuff done” mindset, with a strong background in financial & operational modeling. They are ready to take on special projects as they arise in service of rapid & thoughtful growth. They are able to context-switch and rearrange priorities appropriately with a positive attitude. They have a strong work ethic and will be able to work with the CEO's schedule, which can include long hours.

This is a one-year position, and a great opportunity to gain experience in the start-up world at the intersection of tech and wellness. At the end of the year, this person will have an opportunity to interview for other roles at the company, or Arketa will support this person in finding a role at another tech start-up, assuming the person performs well.

This person must live in LA or NYC, and have a strong background with financial modeling.

You will work on

Finance, Accounting & Revenue.

  • build and continuously improve financial and operating models for our SMB SaaS+ business
  • meticulously maintain our company accounting
  • build decks to tell our company's story both internally and externally
  • track and report on revenue progress to goals
  • working collaboratively with cross-functional teams to push special projects forward
  • set up and implement best processes, and train the team on doing so
  • help set up dashboards for business intelligence

Stripe Management. Arketa uses Stripe to process payments. The person in this role will be/become a Stripe Payments super-user. This will include but isn’t limited to:

  • Create, clean, manage and organize products & pricing in Stripe
  • Manage end to end renewal & price increase processes
  • Analyze subscription and revenue data from Stripe
  • Support and improve sales commission process for accuracy and incentive alignment
  • Track and manage unpaid, past due and all non-active subscriptions
  • Reach out to customers to recover past due or missing payments, and update their stripe subscriptions appropriately

People Operations. This part of the role strives to attract and retain a united team of all-stars @ Arketa. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Building company culture & brand through events, off-sites and processes that will attract the best and brightest to our fully remote team at Arketa
  • Helping to design and update people policies, procedures, and trainings
  • Ensure competitive benefits & perks
  • Onboarding/Off-boarding: work with Head of Operations to deliver world class onboarding & off-boarding processes that attract and retain a united team of all-stars @ Arketa. New teammates will feel inspired, connected and empowered with the right knowledge and tools to succeed from the get-go.
  • Off-boarding will be standardized and efficient, successfully capture institutional knowledge and learnings from transitioning teammates.
  • Signs of success: alumni teammates will enthusiastically refer candidates and endorse working at the company, and will help the company grow with their feedback upon departure.
  • Support the internal team with people questions and requests
  • Support recruiting, interviewing, and hiring processes & communications

About you

  • 1-3+ years of relevant experience, ideally in investment banking, consulting or equivalent role.
  • Must live in LA or NYC
  • Strong financial modeling & analytical skills a MUST, ideally experience modeling SMB SaaS+ businesses
  • Expert with excel, google sheets and powerpoint/google slides
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with accounting, Quickbooks, Pilot or a similar tool
  • Operational and organizational excellence
  • A “no task too small” mindset
  • Excels at cross-functional projects
  • Experience or passion with wellness studios a big plus.

*Note interview will include a financial modeling exercise, cultural fit interviews, and a software working session
