Anakin is building a fully automated pricing engine for large eCommerce companies such as Flipkart, Walmart, and Uber. We help companies like Uber and Flipkart increase their revenue by upto 12% by optimizing the pricing, products and trends data of their competitors.

We do that by collecting data and generating actionable insights. Our pricing engine automatically changes the prices of hundreds of millions of products across 15+ countries in real-time. Anakin is profitable and growing 24% every month with 6 multi-billion-dollar eCommerce companies as clients.

About the role

About the opportunity:

As a Sales Development Representative (SDR) at Anakin, you will be responsible for generating qualified leads, establishing initial contact with potential customers, and driving the early stages of the sales process. You will work closely with our sales and marketing teams to identify and target key accounts, create outreach strategies, and engage potential customers to generate interest in our products/services.

Key ownership:

  • Prospecting and Lead Generation: Utilize various prospecting techniques (such as cold calling, email campaigns, social media outreach, etc.) to identify and generate new leads. Conduct thorough research to understand the target market and create a pipeline of potential customers.

  • Qualifying and Nurturing Leads: Engage with leads to qualify their interest and needs. Conduct initial discovery calls or meetings to understand their pain points, business requirements, and decision-making processes. Build relationships with potential customers through effective communication and follow-up strategies.

  • Sales Outreach and Follow-up: Initiate contact with potential customers through various channels (phone, email, social media, etc.) to present Anakin's products/services and showcase their value proposition. Deliver compelling sales pitches and tailored messaging to engage prospects and schedule qualified appointments for the sales team.

  • CRM Management: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all sales activities, customer interactions, and lead qualification data in the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system. Use CRM tools to track progress, measure success, and identify areas for improvement.

What are we looking for?

  • Previous Experience: Minimum of 1+ years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a technology or B2B sales environment.
  • Sales and Communication Skills: Strong interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills. Ability to deliver compelling sales pitches, overcome objections, and build rapport with potential customers.
  • Self-motivated and Results-Driven: Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets. Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage time effectively to achieve goals.
  • Technical Aptitude: Familiarity with technology products/services and the ability to understand and articulate their value to potential customers. Quick learner with the ability to adapt to new technologies and industry trends.

We work on a microservices architecture and use Python, NodeJS with AWS.

Interview Process

Stage 1: Intro Call with Talent Hiring Team (30 mins, video meeting)

Context: In this session, we would like to understand an overview of your work experience, expertise, and career interest.

Stage 2: Prospecting, Pitching, and General Q&A (45-60 mins, video meeting)

Context: In this, you'll assume the role of a Sales Development Representative at HubSpot. Here's how it will work: The interviewer will introduce an organization. You'll conduct a live prospecting session where you'll identify a potential lead. Once you've identified the prospect, you'll assume that the interviewer is the prospect. Your task is to perform a mock cold call, aiming to schedule a meeting with the 'prospect' for a more in-depth discussion with an Account Executive.

What are we trying to assess: We would like to understand how the prospect, conducts a cold call, defines the value of products/services in the session, handles objections, builds rapport, and sets the next steps with the prospect.

Stage 3: Final and Concluding Meeting (45 mins, face-to-face or video meeting)
