Roles and Responsibilities: Software Engineer at JustPaid

1. Customer Focus

• Act as a customer-centric engineer by directly interacting with clients to understand and resolve their issues.
• Implement new functionalities and features based on customer feedback to enhance product usability and satisfaction.
• Operate as a product engineer with full autonomy, ensuring fast iteration cycles to ship high-quality products.
• Prioritize customer requests, aiming to deliver solutions that exceed their expectations and foster positive relationships.

2. Team Interaction

• Collaborate proactively with team members, offering support and guidance when needed.
• Share new practices, tools, or workflows identified during development with the team to foster collective growth and innovation.
• Learn from existing engineering practices, understanding the codebase and debugging approaches to refine personal workflows and improve team synergy.

3. Clear Communication

• Maintain transparency by communicating regularly about ongoing tasks, planned work, and potential blockers.
• Ensure that responsibilities are clearly defined and updates are consistently shared with the team.
• Foster an open and collaborative environment by engaging in meaningful discussions and providing timely updates.

4. Privacy, Security, and Infrastructure

• Uphold data privacy and security protocols, ensuring the integrity and confidentiality of all sensitive information.
• Maintain infrastructure reliability by ensuring it is operational, secure, and accessible.
• Adhere to best practices to prevent information leaks or misuse.

Our interview process is designed to be efficient and informative:

First, you'll have a 30-minute Zoom call with our People Ops Manager who will discuss your experience, technical skills, and career goals to ensure they match what we're looking for.

Next, you'll meet directly with our co-founders for a 30-minute conversation about your approach to problem-solving and how you might contribute to our current projects.

As part of our technical assessment, we'll ask you to complete a brief coding challenge (typically 2-3 hours) on something you're passionate about using your preferred tech stack.

We pride ourselves on making decisions within one week of completing all interviews. Our team works in a hybrid model with 2-3 days in our Sunnyvale/Los Altos office if you’re close, and the rest remote.
