Built by former Big Four practitioners and experienced technology leaders, Fieldguide is trusted by top CPA firms to improve margins, win new business, and build stronger client relationships. We’re based in San Francisco, CA, but built as a remote-first company that enables you to do your best work from anywhere. We're backed by top investors including Bessemer Venture Partners, 8VC, Y Combinator, Floodgate, Elad Gil, Justin Kan, Qasar Younis, Eric Ries, and more.

About the role

About Us:

Fieldguide is establishing a new state of trust for global commerce and capital markets through automating and streamlining the work of assurance and audit practitioners specifically within cybersecurity, privacy, and ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance). Put simply, we build software for the people who enable trust between businesses.

We’re based in San Francisco, CA and backed by top investors including Bessemer Venture Partners, 8VC, Floodgate, Y Combinator, DNX Ventures, Global Founders Capital, Justin Kan, Elad Gil, and more.

We value diversity — in backgrounds and in experiences. We need people from all backgrounds and walks of life to help build the future of audit and advisory. Fieldguide’s team is inclusive, driven, humble and supportive. We are deliberate and self-reflective about the kind of team and culture that we are building, seeking teammates that are not only strong in their own aptitudes but care deeply about supporting each other's growth.

As an early stage start-up employee, you’ll have the opportunity to build out the future of business trust. We make audit practitioners’ lives easier by eliminating up to 50% of their work and giving them better work-life balance. If you share our values and enthusiasm for building a great culture and product, you will find a home at Fieldguide.

About the Role

We’re hiring a Senior Product Designer to join our Audit product team. You’ll own complex, ambiguous problem spaces end-to-end, partner deeply with Product and Engineering, and help shape the design direction of a core Fieldguide product.

We move incredibly fast at Fieldguide, and we’re looking for designers who can operate at that cadence. This team ships frequently, iterates in tight loops, and makes progress amid ambiguity. You should be comfortable balancing speed with craft, incorporating AI into your daily design practice , and designing AI-assisted workflows directly into the product. This is a high-impact role for someone excited to own unclear problems, drive momentum, and help modernize audit workflows that customers depend on every day.

About the Team

You’ll join a growing, highly collaborative product design team embedded within Fieldguide’s Audit product group. Designers at Fieldguide operate as strong product partners — working closely with Product Management and Engineering, to define problems and deliver high-quality solutions.

The Audit team focuses on the core workflows that auditors and assurance professionals use every day, including planning, execution, review, and collaboration across engagements. The problems are complex, data-rich, and high-impact.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead end-to-end design for complex, ambiguous audit workflows, from problem definition through shipped solutions

  • Partner closely with Product and Engineering to shape strategy, influence roadmaps, and deliver high-quality, scalable implementations

  • Drive design execution with minimal direction, operating effectively in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment

  • Translate customer needs, research insights, and business goals into clear user journeys, interaction models, and polished UI

  • Balance speed and iteration with usability, consistency, and long-term product quality

  • Advocate for users while accounting for technical, regulatory, and business constraints

  • Own a significant product area or customer journey, anticipating downstream impacts across workflows and personas

  • Set a high bar for craft and influence by contributing to the design system, mentoring peers, and serving as a trusted design voice.

Who You Are

  • You thrive in fast-moving environments and can operate effectively at high velocity without sacrificing judgment or craft

  • You’re comfortable owning complex, ambiguous problem spaces end-to-end with minimal direction

  • You think in systems and anticipate downstream impacts across workflows, personas, and adjacent product areas

  • Experience working alongside or designing AI-assisted workflows (e.g., review, summarization, guidance)

  • You incorporate AI into your daily design practice — from research and synthesis to prototyping and iteration

  • You’re excited to design AI-assisted workflows that meaningfully support auditors in their work

  • You set a high bar for usability, polish, and consistency in shipped work

  • You’re a trusted design voice who elevates the team through mentorship, feedback, and thoughtful critique

Bonus Points

  • Experience designing for audit, accounting, compliance, or other regulated domains

  • Background in workflow-heavy, document-centric, or B2B SaaS products

  • Designing for role-based permissions, reviews, and multi-stakeholder collaboration

  • Experience partnering on zero-to-one or major product re-architecture efforts

  • Familiarity with accessibility standards and inclusive design practices
