What is tax consulting? Good question. Tax consultants are tax experts that analyze one or two numbers that go on a company's tax return. For example, the R&D tax credit. The rules for the R&D tax credit are very complex and most accountants do not have the expertise to compute the credit. So a company will hire a tax expert to compute the R&D tax credit for the company. That's tax consulting.

About the role

Business Development Associate 

Location: This position is based in New York City, and in-office attendance is required Monday-Thursday with the ability to be remote on Friday.  

Who we are looking for:  

  • 0-2 years of experience in Business Development, Sales Development, or a customer-facing role with quota responsibilities. 
  • Bachelor’s degree is required (Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field are preferred).  
  • Passion for technology, AI, and the financial/tax industry, with the ability to quickly learn and understand technical product concepts related to tax.  
  • Strong communication skills, resilience, and the ability to handle objections with a customer-centric mindset. A demonstrated history of consistently surpassing weekly, monthly, and quarterly sales goals. 
  • Self-motivated, organized, and goal-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple leads and follow-ups effectively.  
  • Eager to learn, receptive to coaching, and capable of collaborating with cross-functional teams.  
  • Bonus points for CRM experience and other sales tools (Salesforce, Outreach, LinkedIn Sales Navigator preferred).  
  • Bonus points for familiarity with financial documents and/or basic tax-related terminology.

What you’ll be doing: 

  • Strategically uncover qualified businesses using creative prospecting techniques to expand our reach.  
  • Proactively connect with potential clients through phone calls, emails, LinkedIn, and innovative outreach channels. 
  • Work hand-in-hand with our directors to identify high-priority accounts, target industries and exciting partnership opportunities. 
  • Cultivate genuine relationships with business owners and executives to understand their needs and showcase how our services canmake a difference. 
  • Keep our CRM updated with detailed records of all outreach efforts to ensure seamless follow-up and tracking. 
  • Represent SPRX with energy, professionalism, and passion for delivering real value to every interaction.
