About Ohm

Ohm is the AI platform for battery design and manufacturing teams. Our AI "co-scientists" are trained in electrochemistry, battery modeling, and data engineering, embedding directly into workflows across battery R&D and manufacturing.

Our customers include battery manufacturers (traditional and next-generation chemistries) and Fortune 100 technology companies that use batteries in their products.

We’re a lean, high-ownership team of A-players - engineers, ex-founders, sales leaders, and PhD battery scientists building Ohm in San Francisco. We leverage AI to move faster with higher quality results, across every area of the company. Ohm is backed by Y Combinator and other world-class investors as well as serial founders and builders.

Why we created Ohm

We believe the West needs a competitive battery ecosystem. Sam Altman, Elon Musk, and Bill Gates agree. Batteries are a path to an energy-abundant, geopolitically stable future - one that protects nature and supports our values. We are building to create that future.

About the role

This role combines deep battery expertise with strategic impact - you'll solve complex battery challenges while shaping Ohm's product roadmap and driving measurable business outcomes.

Key responsibilities

  • Own the end-to-end integration and implementation strategy for our enterprise customers: develop battery models, coordinate stakeholders, deliver training and technical support, and serve as customers' trusted technical advisor
  • Drive business impact: Ensure customers achieve measurable value (faster R&D, improved workflows) that leads to platform expansion and renewals
  • Build strong technical relationships: Partner with customers through regular calls and on-site visits to optimize platform adoption, while translating their needs into engineering priorities
  • Test the product relentlessly to identify bugs, optimize workflows and ensure Ohm consistently delivers the expected customer experience

What we’re looking for:

Qualifications

  • Ph.D. in STEM with battery research experience OR B.S./M.S. in STEM with 2+ years working with battery data in industry (cell manufacturers, automotive OEMs, etc.)
  • Strong Python skills and experience building battery models
  • Experience with generative AI tools (Claude Code, Cursor, etc.)
  • Confidence analyzing time-series data and communicating battery science insights (degradation mechanisms, anomaly detection)

You’ll thrive if you:

  • Excel at troubleshooting with exceptional attention to detail
  • Have strong organizational skills to manage multiple requests and drive initiatives to completion
  • Are relentless about understanding and delivering what creates customer value
  • Push for excellence and move fast with AI-first workflows
  • Are not above getting into the weeds of a problem to help customers get more value from Ohm

What we offer

  • An opportunity to work in person in San Francisco with a lean team dedicated to building something great together
  • Flexible PTO - we trust you to balance rest with the high intensity of an early-stage startup
  • Team off-sites to bond, create and build
  • Platinum health, vision, dental
