About Parahelp

Parahelp is an AI support agent built for fast-moving software companies. Set up Parahelp in just 1 day without any engineers to automate your complex support tickets end-to-end. It integrates with your existing ticketing system (such as Zendesk, Intercom, Front), knowledge sources, tools (like Stripe, Slack, Linear), and policies.

We're building Parahelp because we believe context—not intelligence—will be the primary bottleneck for AI agents automating high-impact work in the future.

Our current focus: Building an AI support agent that can automate highly complex support tickets end-to-end.

Our mission: Build AI agents that leverage context from customer conversations to automate high-impact work across support, success, product, and engineering.

Our momentum:

  • Launched in August 2024.
  • Working with leading software companies like Perplexity, Framer, Replit, and HeyGen.
  • Backed by Y Combinator, Paul Graham, Perplexity Fund, Hidden Capital, and founders of Replit, Framer, Calm, ElevenLabs, Runway, Speak, Zendesk, etc.
About the role
Skills: Next.js, Tailwind, React, TypeScript

TL;DR:

As a Founding Design Engineer at Parahelp, you’ll work at the intersection of design and frontend engineering to build intuitive user interfaces for our AI Support Agent Manager. You’ll understand customers, design in Figma, and ship production UX/UI that helps software companies like (Perplexity, ElevenLabs, Photoroom, Replit, and Framer) automate support tickets end-to-end.

What you’ll do:

  • Partner with designers to iterate in Figma and code to bring ideas to life without handoff friction.
  • Design and iterate on UI in Figma.
  • Build reusable components and primitives, and own our design system to ensure consistency and scalability.
  • Build intuitive UI using TypeScript, React, NextJS, tRPC, Prisma, and Tailwind.
  • Work with product and backend engineers to integrate APIs and ship complete features with attention to detail.

You might be a fit if:

  • You are based in San Francisco and excited to work in person.
  • You have 2–5 years of experience in front-end development with TypeScript and React. You are familiar with NextJS, tRPC, Prisma, Tailwind, and TanStack Query.
  • You love design, care about the details, and want to own the craft.
  • You’re already using AI tools in your day-to-day to build, design, or prototype.
  • You’re excited about the unpredictable environment of an early-stage startup and the chance to leave your fingerprints on everything.
  • You have a portfolio or personal site that showcases your design and front-end work.
  • Bonus: You’ve been a founder before or have comparable zero-to-one experience.
Interview Process
