Mobius is a recycling startup with the mission of creating a circular economy for electronic components like microprocessors and capacitors that were destined for the landfill (Go planet earth!). We are building advanced quality control detection ML and a B2B marketplace for components.

Excess chips get thrown away today (where they contribute heavily to heavy metal pollution) because there is no way to verify they are real. We are solving the trust problem with the first machine learning based anti-counterfeit tech and trust based platform to sell chips.

About the Role

Mobius Materials is seeking a highly motivated Head of Operations to optimize our network, COGS, internal tools, and financial systems to support a 10x growth in GMV capacity and 95% smooth orders. This role will also drive strategic analytics projects to push forward our highest company goals.

You’ll be joining us in our office in Shockoe Bottom in Richmond, Virginia. We’re fully in-person 3 days per week, but are flexible about working from home or remotely as needed.

This is a full-time, executive-level position with a competitive salary and equity package, depending on experience.

Key Outcomes

• Ensure 95% smooth orders (on-time, high-quality, correctly quoted orders).
• Maintain COGS/Net Revenue of <25%.
• Set up internal tools, working capital, and systems to support 10x growth in GMV capacity by the end of the year.
• Manage monthly accounting, cash flow, and financial forecasting.
• Build and lead a high-functioning team of A-players.

About Mobius Materials

Mobius Materials is a fast-growing marketplace helping electronics manufacturers buy and sell chips safely, quickly, and at market prices. Forecasting the right number of chips to buy when manufacturing a hardware product is a hard problem. If you overbuy, you end up with excess inventory, and if you underbuy, you end up scrambling to find the parts you need. Mobius solves both of these problems by closing the loop: we help customers sell their excess components and quickly find stock when needed.

Besides helping our customers, we’re also helping the planet. The electronics industry throws away $15 billion of chips annually—most of the chips we sell would have otherwise gone into a landfill.

We have a marketplace and a machine learning counterfeit detection technology. The marketplace is built on React and Django and the ML tech is Python with OpenCV.
