About Retell AI: We are a YC W24 company with a 5-person team that scaled to $2.5M ARR in just 6 months. At Retell AI, our vision is clear: to be the leading platform for building and managing AI voice agents, revolutionizing contact center operations. We raised a $4.7M seed round, led by Alt Capital, with contributions from Carya Venture, and over 20 founders, executives, and operators including industry leaders like Rajat Suri (co-founder of Lyft & Presto), Aaron Levie (co-founder & CEO of Box), Siqi Chen (founder & CEO of Runway), Alex Levin (co-founder & CEO of Regal), Michael Seibel (co-founder of Twitch and YC group partner), and Tyler Bosmeny (co-founder of Clever and YC group partner).

What You’ll Do: As the Founding Developer Relations Lead, you will build and nurture the developer community around Retell AI’s platform. You'll engage, educate, and inspire developers, acting as a bridge between the community and our internal teams. You'll work closely with the founders to drive product adoption, collect feedback, and create content that resonates with developers across various channels.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Developer Community Strategy: Develop and execute a strategy to build and grow a vibrant developer community around Retell AI's platform. Establish success metrics and use data and insights to guide community engagement efforts.
  • Technical Advocacy: Communicate Retell AI's technical capabilities to the developer community. Develop compelling messaging and narratives that resonate with technical users, ensuring consistency across all channels.
  • Content Creation: Create and publish developer-focused content, including blog posts, documentations, video tutorials, and technical guides. Host webinars, workshops, and other events to educate and engage the developer community.
  • Community Engagement: Foster relationships with developers via Discord, Twitter, and other online forums. Act as the voice of the developer, gathering feedback and ensuring it informs product development and strategy.
  • Developer Events & Programs: Organize and participate in developer events, hackathons, and conferences. Collaborate with product and engineering teams to showcase our technology and engage with developers.
  • Partnerships & Integrations: Facilitate technical partnerships and joint initiatives to expand Retell AI's reach. Take the lead on initiatives to expose Retell's products to developers across major enterprise platform marketplaces like Five9, Avaya, AWS, etc.

Who You Are: We’re looking for someone who is a curious, driven, and community-focused developer relations professional with hands-on experience working with developer platforms.

Key Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience in developer relations, developer advocacy, or a technical role involving engagement with developer communities.
  • Technical fluency: Ability to dig deep into platform features and translate them into engaging, easy-to-understand content for developers.
  • Startup experience: Comfortable working in fast-paced, ambiguous environments and figuring out solutions to complex problems.
  • Strong communicator: Excellent written and verbal skills with the ability to distill complex technical concepts into clear, actionable content.
  • Hands-on experience creating technical content (e.g., blog posts, videos, tutorials) and engaging with developer communities.
  • Data-driven: Able to use data and insights to inform decisions and measure the success of community engagement initiatives.
  • Experience with community management: You enjoy talking to people in Discord, Twitter, and other forums, fostering developer engagement.
  • Curious mindset with a passion for new technologies and a strong desire to understand customer needs.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Degree in a technical field such as computer science, engineering, or mathematics.
  • Experience working in B2B or developer-focused environments.
